 I had the exact same issue with this builder and would say if your looking at buying with them DO NOT BUY.

closeing costs were 9-14k for some neighbours. 4ft by 4ft decks were at a cost of 2500$. we had the same situation with regards to the grading deposit. House was bought in late 2008. moved in everything was ok. Sold the house 3 years later and the sub devision was still not assumed. City of Milton was telling me it was becasue Allegra was not doing the nessary things to get it to pass. fast forward to late 2013. I called the city again in October to be told the sub devison was assumed in June. Builder did not contact me to let me know this. When i called Patrica 416-781-4118 press 3 ( or sometimes when they change the main login i believe its 21 or 23) from October till enf od Feb of 2014 i got the run around. Waiting on the miney from the devloper, the accountant was only in every 2 weeks, hes been off sick for a month. BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH.

When we spoke is OCT of 2013 i told her i moved and no longer lived there, she said she made a note of this. Now the begining of Feb 2014 i got fed up, along with another neighbour we both said enough was enough and were in the mindset of getting in contact with the media. Both of us had called and let Patrica know this, as soon as this was brought up her tune changed and didnt want her name to be brought into it. Shortly after that statment was made she told both of us our checks were sent. We then waited a week with nothing showing up i called back, and guess where she told me she sent it(wrong address) I told her I would give her to the end of the week to get it out. Again that week ended with nothing. At that point i sent an email to someone at the TORONTOSTAR who was promotoing them as being this great honest compnay and again BLAH BLAH BLAH. I called back and gave them again one more day to get me my money thats been held from me. Two days later it finally showed up.

I would never buy a product from them again every, and like i said if your thinking about it you shouldnt either.

Very difucult to deal with, holds your money that your gave them as a depost, and only returns it when media was a threat. No intrest was giving to us from the 1100$ depsoit that they had for 5+ years.

I also would say anyone still waiting for their money back call and use the media threat and watch how fast they change their tune....
