I have made a mistake of getting Allen Anderson Inc. to change and install my garage door. Once they finished the job I send my check to them the very next day (August 2006). The check was cashed a few days later by the company.

A few months later (Summer 2006) Allen Anderson Inc. called me asking for their money. I told them that the check was cashed by them. On the top of that I made a copy of the check and mail it to them.

In fall 2006 they called again asking for the money. I made copy of the check again and mail it to them again. At that time I have spoken with one of employees and he told me that former employee took money from the company and took company records with him too.

Fall 2007 they sent a letter in which they threatened with collection services if I don't pay. I ignored the letter. After a few weeks they called again asking for the money and threatening with collection services.

Every time it was a different person calling. It seems that they change people there on monthly basis.

I finally had enough and I am failing law suit against them in Hennepin County. Also I am failing complaint with Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry.

Let's be real about this... you are not an ex employee.... You are a competitor in the same trade.

POSTED: Tuesday, February 19, 2008

After reading this report, it became very clear that the person who claims to be an ex employee is Not being honest. It is VERY CLEAR it is a competitor continuing to Slander. And it is a terrible shame people like you dont get a life. I actually agree with the person who is lying about their Identity. I know the company in question and do know alot of dirt on this company. However, I think that the person lying about their identity is just as terrible as the company in question. Too bad you don't have the stones to represent yourself honestly. You are just as bad as the company you CLAIM to have worked for...... I dooooooo know who u r and shame on you. You should have taken the high road , but instead you STOOP to this kind of slander. I cannot help but question your own CHARACTER. SHAME ON BOTH OF YOU......GO CRY TO YOUR MAMA AND LEAVE THIS FORUM TO THE PEOPLE WHO GENUINELY HAVE ISSUES............GET A LIFE ....GET SOME CHARACTER.... AND BE HONEST.............LET ME REPEAT....YOU ARE NO BETTER THAN THE CROOKS U WRITE ABOUT....

UPDATE from the BBB

AUTHOR: Former Manager - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, December 19, 2007

The BBB has taken action once and for all. Here is the BBB's results.

BBB Membership Status

On December 13, 2007 this company's membership in the BBB was revoked by the BBB's Board of Directors due to failure to eliminate the underlying cause of complaints on file with the BBB.

The Bureau processed a total of 49 complaints about this company in the last 36 months, our standard reporting period. 27 of these were closed in the past year.Of the total of 49 complaints closed in 36 months, 27 were closed in the last year.

Again I wonder why "Mike" would go to RIp-Off since his experience was so positive? That makes as much sence as buying a Chevy from the Ford dealership. I have little doubt Mike doesn't exist, I challenge Mike to respond and prove he was an actual customer instead of another attempt by Allen Anderson to mis-lead hard working people inorder to keep ripping them off.

I have serious doubt about last entry

AUTHOR: Former Manager - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, December 12, 2007

I suspect Allen Anderson is doing everyything possible to trick consumers. First Allen Anderson is no where near the largest garage door company. In fact there are many companies that several times Allen Anderson's size & Volume. As I understand it one of the issues the BBB is looking at is Allen Anderson's web sight where they have fake posting of satisfied customers. I have little doubt that the person who said their experience was excellent simply doesn't exist. My question would be if they are so satified why would they even think about going to Rip-Off.com unless they don't exist and are again attempting to mislead and clean-up their image. The following is the BBB's reponce to Allen Anderson's shadey business practices.

On October 22, 2007, the BBB met with the management of Allen Anderson to discuss the pattern
BBB Definition:

pattern - More than 2 complaints involving the same allegations usually within 12 months that are significant in relation to the company's size and volume of business.

and volume of complaint received by BBB.

The company has indicated to the BBB that it has changed and revised customer service policies including the placement of a management escalations team to resolve disputes when received by customers and is requiring employees to undergo customer service training.

On December 3, 2007, the Better Business Bureau suspended the membership of Allen Anderson due to no reduction in the volume and no progress in elimating the cause of complaint.

The fact is Allen Anderson has little interest of acually making things right, if it was a company that had to build a relationship for repeat business they would have been closed long ago. The reality is you will most likely only replaced your garage door once in a lifetime, so who cares if you hate Allen Anderson. I suspect on December 13th because of all the games the BBB will be removing them once and for all. I'll let you know in a few days.

Owner is willing to make things right

AUTHOR: Mike - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, December 10, 2007

Recent BBB action made me hesitant to hire this company - so I called the owner. Scott told me that many problems have come from growing too fast, too quickly - so they have made changes which include replacing the billing system and having the owner personally repsond to questions and complaints. From my perspective, they have been around for six years - not a fly by night company. They are the largest residential garage door company in Minneapolis - trying to do too much will cause problems. The push for me to hire them was the fact that they are being scrutinized so closely - so they are bending over backwards to give the best service possible.

The end result - fair quote (Compared to 3 others) and a solid installation (Showed up on time - good quality work). Understand the past history but I felt comfortable enough to give them a chance - ended up with a great experience.

#2 UPDATE Employee

Update

AUTHOR: Former Manager - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, December 07, 2007

Folks,

The BBB has earlier this month suspended Allen Anderson Inc due to a continued pattern of complaints. This is a huge step for the BBB who only on the rarest of occasions actually suspends memberships. The moral of this story is the Twin Cities area has multiple Garage Door Companies, don't make the mistake of past people and trust Allen Anderson Inc for your garage door needs.

Ilija I encourage you to file a complaint with the BBB

AUTHOR: Former Manager - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, November 19, 2007

Ilija,

I'm glad to see that you have made a complaint on Rip Off. As a former manager of Allen Anderson I can assure you that no employee stole your money. The fact is Allen Anderson has received as of today 46 complaints from the BBB. The majority of them have to due with poor service or billing. I'm sure you have received several phone calls and letters from Allen Anderson with names that really don't exist. The person who handles the collections is one of the most unprofessional people I have ever met. I would encourage you to file a complaint with the BBB. If you go to www.bbb.com you can file the complaint over the inter-net. I also encourage you to bring this case to the courts. In a earlier report on Rip Off I gave some interesting facts. Of the top eight companies that have a much bigger volume of garage doors combined have only 5 complaints together, but yet Allen Anderson who does no were near the volume of the other companies has over 46 complaints. As you will see the BBB has now refused to put them into a satisafcotry catigory and is currently conducting a review that will be released by 1 December 2007. I honestly can wait to see there results and agree that you did make a mistake in trusting Allen Anderson to replace your garage door. I encourage you to share your experience of Allen Anderson with everyone you know.
