Alliance Moving Services Inc. Andrew Cruz Quality assurance manager Deceptive Practice and Fraud New York New York

After searching the Internet for Moving companies, For a move from Chicago to New Tazewell Tennessee I was contacted by a agent from Alliance Moving Services who gave me a estimate for moving a small amount of items, they estimated 2000 lbs however I doubt if it was that much they estimated a price of $2238.70 that included a fee of $300.00 for a shuttle service which I told them that they would need at the destination point(We live on a Mountain)

Alliance assured me that I would recieve quality service and that Unique Van Lines had been contracted for the move.

On Feb 23rd 2014 I was contacted by Unique Van lines and told that a pick up would be made, two men came to the house driving a U Haul rental truck, when I questioned the use of the U- haul and if it was considered a shuttle service, which we did not need at the Chicago address, the street being wide enough to accomodate either a semi or 26ft straight. I was told," don't worry, its no problem."

The two men proceeded to pack up my belongings however they did not wrap or insulated a tiffany pole lamp, and a bookcase, 2 rattan chairs and a small side table. When I questioned them I was told," don't worry we will do it at the warehouse."

On March 15th 2014  I recieved a call from the Driver employed by Unique Van Lines who stated that he was about ten miles from town and needed to find a shuttle service because he couldn't take his semi up the winding mountain roads, and that he would call me back.And that it would be another $300.00.

Several hours passed and I recieved another call from the drive stating that he almost got his truck stuck and that he was lost. I got his postion and my husband went and got him.

 Imagine my suprise when the Unique Van Lines Driver pulled up into my drive minus his trailer and all my belongings strapped to the back of his tractor. Including a unwrapped pole lamp,and unwrapped bookcase.

He proceeded to tell me that he needed my money and I tendered him the cashiers check I had drawn on my bank.

He then used my bathroom. He then proceeded to unload I heared my husband yelling and went out to discover that the book case that was unwrapped had several deep gouges, and the Tiffany shade for the pole lamp was crushed ,then the glass and mirror curio cabinet was unwrapped and it was smashed into a million pieces, the TV has a deep scratch in the screen, the DVD VCR player is not working and is covered in dust, the dishes are broken and one dish box is missing,all the wardrobe boxes are filthy and ripped open, and we are missing the top to a metal filing cabinet, but worst of all we are missing a desk that had been broken down into two pieces and contained personal files, belonging to myself,my husband and our daughter.

The driver simply dumped the items into the basement had me sign some paper and fled the scene he mumbled something about I had fifteen days to file a claim.

I believe Alliance Moving Service is in breach of contract along with Unique Van Lines, according to the contract the moving estimate includes: PROFESSIONAL Door to Door service, Disassembly and reassembly of all items disassembled by movers at pick up.

In what world does Professional Door to Door service constitute delivery items being strapped to a back of a semi tractor?

I am terrified that the papers in the desk have been stolen by people at these companies and will be used to commit identity theft.

No body in their right mind would hire a broker such as Alliance Moving Services or Unique Van Lines.

Please let me post the pictures of this Fiasco,so that people are warned.
