I had credit cards with Associates Visa and GE visa whos accounts were later merged into one card which caused my balance to over $3000 about 2 years later it went into collection with a company called TriAdvantage who at first demanded my grandparent to make a $50 payment over the phone since I was at work at the time. Then they wanted a $50 payment, plus my Grandparents mis-understanding them also sent in a payment.

So all total the first month they got $150 but since my grandparents stoped the paper check and I went to the bank about getting my money back since I didn't authorzied a check to come out of my bank acount they didn't give me any credit for the payment even though they still had that $50 that was made over the phone with my grandparents. Later I did arrange a month auto-payment of $51 ($50 + what they claimed was a $1 fee for doing the payment over the phone) that went well for a year then when those payments time was up I reset up the checks but this time there was a $2 fee so that made it $52 a month. That lasted 6 months at which time I was told the bank wouldn't take the $50 payment anymore and I had to pay $75 (no fee this time). So I did that after 2 months of that I started getting calls from them saying the payments weren't going thru even though I had canceled check showing it did go thru.

So I switched checking accounts I was using and the same thing happen so we both agreed that we should cancel the auto-payment and I send in the checks which has been hard for me. They don't send out the statments till the around the 3rd of each month and they want the payments in by the 15th which only gives me a week from the time I get the statement to sending out a check. When I was late they always want me to send the money by Western Union which I refuse for lack of proof of the payment.

Beware of this company they go by at least 3 names
I get statements sometimes with Tri-Advantage sometimes with Alliance One, and both have a mailing address showing Citicorp Credit Services, INC for some reason. And on the canceled checks it shows that the checks were cleared by M&T Bank but they claim their bank is US Bank. Something doesn't seem right with all that.
