I don't know who these people, Allied Interstate, really are or what they do, but they started calling my home about 2 weeks ago, NON-STOP! They keep calling for a Barbara Courtney. My number has been the same for years. I keep telling them they have the wrong number or have been trying to tell them. They are rude, abusive and hang up on me many times before I can get out that they are calling a wrong number.
They call my home several times a day, day and night sometimes too early sometimes very late. My wife is sick and it is hard on her. It's causing her to become stressed and this makes her sicker. She is now hanging up on them.
They were extremly rude and abusive to my wife today. When she hangs up they call back. Today after hanging up several times she finally asked who they were and that's how we now know them as Allied Interstate. Today she lost her temper and cussed them out, and started crying.
We sure whould like these calls to stop. We are tired of this harrasment.

Montana,
Allied Interstate collect primarily for Junk Debt Buyers. They collect on old debts that are up to 20 years old, and legally uncollectable.
You got lucky enough to have a name similar to someone who owed an old debt, or at one time lived at your address or had your phone#.
They just use reverse directories, etc..
Get a police whistle and blow it in their ear.
Or write the corporate office:

most of the call are made by an automatic dialer. the next time you get a call ask to speak to supervisor and let them know you are putting them "on notice " .and to remove your number from the computer.

It's called "Telephone harrassment." The police will ask you to document the calls, even record them, and the detectives will solve your problem. Been there, done that. I know you don't want to waste the cops' time, but at least where I live they have men specifically assigned to take care of this stuff. I guess they'ed rather stop it than have you go over there with a shotgun.
