This company buys debt for pennies on the dollar, then harrasses people to pay. Collection recently reported on my credit from 2012. Never attended the school they are collecting for ( correspondence school not accredited) , Ashworth College. They purchased the debt in 2016 and are now reporting it in 2017. I tried calling their offices, but get a recording saying they are closed. I researched them online, found out that several locations are permanently closed. How do they report a collection without verifying it is actually you in the first place, ruining your credit. There has to be something our legislation can do to end this type of collection activity. How can this be legal?
