Allstate Financial Services, Inc. SCAM!!!! LAS VEGAS, Nevada

I got a call a few months ago on my cell phone from a unknown number with a guy on the other end. He verified my name and social security number. He then proceeded to tell me that I have a debt that I've refused to pay with a company and the next step would be taking this matter to court.

When I asked him which company the debt was for he refused to tell me. He only gave me a 800 number and a case number for this.The guy read off an old address they had for me saying they will be sending the information there. He then said that I've officially been served over the phone. I called the number and she verified my info. She then told me that I had a loan from ACE Cash express a payday loan company that I still owed money to. I told her I would be unable to pay the entire amount since I am on unemployment at this time and can not to afford to pay in full. She refused to setup a payment arrangement and started to have an attitude with me so I hung up. 

I then got a phone call from the same guy again about a hour later and he left me a voicemail since I missed the call. The voicemail said something along the lines that he received word from the agency that I contacted them and refused to give them my current address for them to send me the summons to take me to court. He also said that he has agents on standby who will attempt to contact me in person by going to all the address locations they had on file under my name. He said they will continue to go to court if I not present they will have the court prosecute with out me there.

After hearing all of this I started to panic calling my mom and fiance. They said that they have to serve me in person to go to court and its most likely a debt collection agency trying to scare me. A few months passed by till today when I got another call from someone at unknown number leaving a message from all state and this is final attempt to contact me for a claim. 

I thought it was All state insurance company since my mother had gotten in accident they called me a few times to settle the insurance case. Some how they had called me a few times so I decided to call back to let them know this is my number and not my mothers. When the agent answered I realized it was the collection agency and she proceeded to verify my information. She said this is final attempt before they take this to court to collect my debt. I told her that I can not pay since I am still not working. She offered to settle it for $200 and do payment arrangement. The amount of $50 would be due by end of the month. I then asked her to send me documentation before I pay anything to them to ensure they are a legit company and not a scam.

After some arguing with her about documentation which they refused to send she got a supervisor on the phone. I had same run around with him. He they told me he can do $200 but has to be by today. I told him the agent I was just speaking to said I can do a payment arrangement with first payment $50 by end of month. He told me he can't do that since I am not working. I said I would try to find $200 to pay by today but I wanted documentation first. He refused and said they send the documentation after account is paid off.  The way they do this is send a documentation stating the account has been paid in full after all money has been received. He stood by the offer and told me he will be in office for an hour and that's how long offer is good for. 

After this I called ACE Cash Express corporate office asking them which collection agency had my debt. She told me a different company. I then explained to her what was going on. She offered to do a 3 way call with me to All State. After I verified my info with All State the woman told me I had over $2k and she is willing to settle for $200 today. Funny thing is my debt is about $367. All other agents I spoke to from All state in the last 2 calls said my total was $367. They cant even get the numbers right!!!!! The agent from ACE then stepped in the conversation telling her how ACE doesn't deal with All State for debt collection.

The All state agent then asked her who they go through naming off all of these other companies. The woman from ACE said it wasn't her business. Then the All State agent said they get all the debt info from their another company who is their mothership company? So she placed us on hold said she will get a supervisor, came back on with us saying the supervisor is left early. ( yea right)  The woman from ACE said that they are to no longer contact me since my debt from ACE isn't with them. After the 2 woman kept talking over each other the woman from All state hung up. The woman from All state seemed very upset that I had ACE on 3 way with me and we called her out on their scam

The agent from ACE told me to only go through another company called cascade capital was the agency that has my debt. She also said that company would send info back to ACE and not to any other company. She then told me that the woman was wrong on the total which is really only $360 so in reality the woman was not settling for less. She was settling for amount I owed in first place. I never owed anymore than that so the $2k was just another lie. I am now keeping all voicemails from All state. If they attempt to contact me again I will document it and have to get a lawyer involved. 

I hope other people do research before they pay companies like this. Its a scam. Also the Ace agent told me that there is a database that these companies can access that has my info, address and debt. That's how they get your information in the first place. I didn't know that.
