Alltel Double Billing and False Credit Reporting Little Rock Arkansas

I had an account with Midwest Wireless back in 2004. We moved and they did not have service here so we closed the account. The balance should have only been like 180.00. They send me a letter (not a bill) for 698.00 I disputed and disputed. Then they sold out to Alltel (Which I just found out 2wks ago). Well in June of 2003 I wanted to buy a home and found That Midwest Wireless had a collection company reporting a 698.00 collection. I called AMO Recoveries which told me they had to speak to Midwest Wireless(they never mentioned Alltel) to see if they would agree to delete if I paid in full even though I did not feel the amount was right.

A few hours later I got a call back from them and they said if I paid in full right then with a Credit/Debit card they had permission to deleted from all 3 credit bureaus and would fax me a letter to that affect. So on June 3,2007 I paid this in full with my Debit Card. Like promissed I received the letter and sure thing in less than a week (they said 30days) it was deleted from all 3 reports. Then we get an alert a few weeks ago Alltel is on my credit report as a collection account. They put this on my report in August

I called them and they said too bad it was going to be there for 7 yrs. What the hay. I dont think that is fair. They still do bussiness as Midwest Wireless according to Google so since they agreed to delete how can they now report under a new company and change the reporting date. not to mention now this looks like a brand new collection which just tanked my scores.

Now my husband does have Alltel right now and we have proof they were double and triple billing. I have it in black and white. When we called them on this in July they were not easy to deal with and did not want to admitt they were at fault. That was in July then all of a sudden in August they put a collection on my credit report. Go figure. Something is wrong here. I wish I could start a class action suit on this one. I am sure I am not the only person they have done this too
