We signed up for Alltel Cell service 18 months ago. A family plan with two lines. My husband, a disabled Vietnam Veteran wanted a reliable cell phone to carry for emergencies. He is home most days. We purchased a $200 Motorola Razr. It didn't work, Alltel replaced it three times, the last time with a "free" phone. When he inquired about a refund he was told, so sad, so sorry, you lose. He has returned to the store we purchased the phone and other Alltel sores with complaints about his service. One store actually reprogrammed his phone to a North Carolina area!
We live within 5 miles of two Alltel towers, yet our service is random. And when a connection is made, the calls waver or drop, and we get about every 4th or 5th word.
Calls to Alltel customer service are a joke and waste no less than 1-2 hours of our time. Emails complaints only advise you to call. Feel like you are getting the run around.
I've asked to be allowed out of the contract for my husband's phone at a prorated amount. The claim they can't do that. All I want to do is to provide him with a decent cellular service in case of an emergency.
Wonder what they will do if he has an emergency and attempts to use the cell phone to call for assistance?
