Charles Pope Cellular (an authorized agent of Alltel) will be charging my credit card for at least $266.14 for two returned phones plus $100.00 restocking fees. I don't know why It cost them $366.14 for me to have two phones for four days. I bought Monday May 28 and returned Saturday June 2, 2007.

Yes I did initial that there were no cash refunds- after questioning them on the policy- the reply was don't worry about it, you won't want to return your phones or cancel your service. I did not think I would not recieve store credit for the amount.

Their contract is double talk all over the place. For instance they make you initial that your phone may have been used and returned by someone else within the 15 day period and then sold to you. Then thier explanation of why they don't give refunds is that the phones are sold at a discounted price with new activations and CANNOT be resold after they have been used.

So which story is true, both, neither? I was told Alltel did not have any FINE PRINT don't worry, you don't need to read, just sign, sign, initial. After signing this agreement you are presented with a total- more or less just a verbal total which is not categorized which you agree to be charged that day, you do not sign or read or initial this.

Then you get charged on your credit card and find your computer invoice receipt in the folder you are given with your copies when you get home that you have never seen before that breaks down what you were charged on your credit card for. There are four charges which were never spoken of or initialed or signed that you agree at all, these are mystery charges that they explain in severel ways after the fact when questioned.

Two $35.00 CPC processing fees one for each phone - no answer to why this is not disclosed. Then two $9.95 CPC programming fees-one for each phone. The two answers for that one are for manually putting about 20-25 numbers in one phone's phonebook, they offered to do this but did not say there would be a charge. The second phone was not touched. When that was not an acceptable answer the story changed to that was in case you need a loner phone if yours needs repair. That is crap too, You have to initial the contract where it says' We have a loaner phone program available if needed. Only requires a refundable deposit of $50.00 at time of request.'

Thier next lie was putting my bill in my business name. I requested that my business buy the Alltel service and the phones and have the bill in my business name since I wll be using the phones for my business. They did a credit check on my business and wanted a copy of my tax ID number. The plan I picked out was apparently not eligible for business use and I was not told this specifically, so it was put in my name along with my business name.

When I went to the website to manage the account it would not let me in as a business. I bought two phones with the famous Alltel Family 'my circle' plan. I was told both phones could have a separate list of ten my circle numbers, another lie- all phones on this plan must share the same ten numbers.

Alltel's website plainly quotes there is a 15 day RISK FREE guarantee for thier service(you can cancel service for any reason within 15 days)- under the 'Equipment portion'- I will quote to the word- 'Any handset or accessory may be exchanged or returned to the original point of purchase once within 15 days from date of purchase. To be to be eligible for a full purchase price refund, equipment shall be in like new condition and should include all the original parts/pieces, original sales receipt(if purchased from a retail location or authorized agent) and in the original packaging with UPC code intact'

Why does Alltel keep Charles Pope as an authorized agent if Charles Pope does not abide by Alltel's written promise? Why do my intials mean more than a multimillion dollar company's promise? We tried Cingular a few years ago and they were honest and did not charge us an outrageous amount for keeping thier phones for 10 days.

I understand that Alltel should receive fair compensation for the activation fees for the phones for me to try and my mins I tried to use-Lousy reception-reason for this whole incident of me returning. Also I don't protest the $100.00 restocking fee for Charles Pope. I do protest returning phones and not being refunded the phones' prices', I do protest being charged mystery charges which I did not agree to.

This is not even over yet I don't know what other evil they have planned for me, I might get my credit card statement to find more surprise charges.

I did make three calls to Alltel customer service one told me that Charles Pope could charge and do whatever they want and one CSR told me they should not be doing that since they are an authorized agent of Alltel. The third CSR told me my phone number could be changed to another company within the 15 day trial period. Well Sprint is ahving a hell of a time and not been able t wrest our numbers back for Alltel yet. Now I have outgoing Nextel service and incoming Alltel still. I need more grey hair.
