Alltel ripoff Pensacola Florida

My complaint with Alltel I am sure is one that anyone who has a contract with a cellular phone provider and has moved has faced.

I use to live in Pensacola, Florida, however since I moved from there due to Hurricanes and the fact that my career transfered me after Hurricane Dennis destroyed our office building, I cannot get a local number. Since I can't get a local number here in Oklahoma they told me I could get a number for either FT. SMITH, ARKANSAS or for OKLAHOMA CITY, OK. I guess that this really wouldn't be a problem if these areas wouldn't be a long distance charge for any and everyone who has to call me.

When I asked about getting my service canceled they wanted to bill me $250.00 for this. But why should I have to pay anymore than I am already paying? I mean this is rediculous. If a cellular phone company doesn't have service in your area the least they can do is cancel your contract for free.

If any of you out there can sympathize with this call them at the number listed. Thank you.
