Aloha Sysems Kirby inconsiderate to employees and to customers Phoenix Arizona

I still feel hurt by them, so I don't know where to begin.

I was homeless when I began working for Aloha Systems. I went to observe and help with Kirby vacuum demonstrations for my training. I believe that was normal. They have a certain amount of time that they give all employees of base pay before putting you 100% on commission to sell vacuums by yourself.

Before I even recieved my first paycheck, I had to ask for a 10.00 advance because I was so incredibly hungry and needed to strength to lift their heavy, solid vacuums. The boss (I think his name was Jim) lent me that money and of course I had to pay it back. I lived on one bag of pumpkin seeds and one Brisk Iced Tea per day. That's all I could afford and I had to buy it in Circle K between homes that we demo'd at.

When I was paid, I wanted to pay it back immediately. Well, the boss said he needed to talk to me in his office personally. I was intimidated as one of the only female employees. I was only 21 at the time. I had two male trainers. The first one, who was at least ten years older than I, told me I seemed like a very well-natured young lady and all that would change if I continued to work for a company like that one. The second male trainer, closter to my age, had a girlfriend but still came on to me repeatedly. He said wasn't I glad/lucky to be spending time with him instead of doing something borning? Yes, I was alone with this men, one on one, in a car, for training, everyday.

When I met with the boss, I was not told that I had done anything wrong to deserve what happened next. I was in his dim office with one other male employee. The boss told me that he was taking me off a paycheck and putting me on full commission early. HE DID NOT DO THIS TO ANYONE ELSE IN MY TRAINING CLASS. He told me if I was really starving that I would have no problem working hard enough to sell those vacuums so that I could eat.

I needed my paycheck to eat and build up the strength to keep going and they took that away from me. I had even brought my own handtruck (luggage cart) to move the vacuums around. I had kept it since childhood. Well, I used it to the best of my ability. All the customers liked me.

Of course when they took me off commission, they told me to find my own customers within my own contact list. I only had two family members and one aquaintence and no friends. A family member bought one vacuum to help me out. To protect themselves, the family member paid it off in full the same day. The man who trained me/the boss were MAD that this person paid it in full because they make more money when someone has to pay off the interest over a long period of time. My family member paid 1,000+. IF this family member would have made the payments, the price would have been 2,000+.

Needless to say, I couldn't survive this. Of course I found other jobs which were just as hard if not harder but they did not pull the rug out from under me the way these Kirby salesman did. You might ask, where were my parents in all this? Well, they had rough lives and figured eveeryone can come of age this way. It never occured to them to just parent me. Everyone is different. I was not into crime, drugs or sex at this age and deserved a better life. But I didn't have a better life and I tried my best with what I had.

When I left this job, I asked about my handtruck. I never got it back. We(the employees) all kept our things in the same van. No, I didn't realize that someone may steal just my things and leave everyone elses. Can you believe that? They stole from me my right to be paid to feed myself and they took my stuff too.

I was just a kid.
