I bought a 2004 Chevy Aveo on 4/11/13 with 57.000 Mi, and a $2,000 full warranty and roadside assistance included, from Alpha Warranty Services, INC (1-800-662-5519); soon after that I had to take the car back to the dealer - Certified Car Center (9660 Fairfax Blvd  Fairfax, VA 22031;(703) 273-5588) to have them replace a vapor canister valve so the car could pass the State Emission Inspection (the warranty service company stated that the damage was a prior-the-purchase one, and that they won't cover the cost of the repair); on 4/24/13 I payed $45 for the transmission fluid to be flush with Circle Sunoco (the car dealer's preferred auto repair shop @ 9626 Lee Highway, Fairfax, VA 22031); on 5/9/13 I payed $109.74 for a purchase test with a certified mechanic (Hogan& Son Inc, 7451 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA 22042 @ 703 289 9660), to make sure that there are no more hidden breakdowns, and that I may safely drive the car (the test result was positive). On 8/16/13 the car broke completely (the engine will run, but the car won't move), and I had to tow it to the mechanic to have the damages evaluated; I had to pay for the towing service, and Alpha Warranty Service Inc said that won't cover any of the expenses for the repairs that need to be carried out (evaluated at over $1,800). I think the car is a lemon under the Virginia Lemon Law, and I am going to pursue getting all this settled by a judge.

Not Listed for Coverage

AUTHOR: Alpha Warranty Services, Inc - ()

POSTED: Friday, March 21, 2014

We regret hearing that this customer wasn’t happy with her claims experience. We have had a chance to review her concerns and would like to provide some additional details missing from the concern mentioned above.

The customer did purchase our A La Car coverage. This coverage covers powertrain and some additional components that are specifically listed on the service contract. This service contract is what is referred to as a stated component coverage meaning it only lists the components that are specifically covered. This is a great coverage but does not cover everything.

The customer did call in a claim 4 days after purchase but it turned out to be a vapor canister valve that simply was not listed for coverage. Later on August 19, 2013, she experienced problems with her vehicle and it was determined by her repair facility that the thermostat housing had failed.

Once again, every component that is covered under the service contract is specifically listed on the agreement. In this case, unfortunately neither component was listed for coverage.

We regret her frustration but wish to point out that these complaints filed online amount to less than .001% of all service contracts that we provide. We have an A+ rating with the BBB and have been chosen as a top service contract provider by several companies.
