We also received a bill from Merchants' Credit Guild Co.
instructing us to pay $120.91 for premuim web content In January of 2003. We had it taken off our phone bill in March after calling the phone company and explaining that we were not home, but at work at the time that the call was supposidly made.

I called Merchant Credit Guild and spoke with a Ms Cash (catchy name I thought)and she asked my name I told her I would think she knows that since her company is trying to collect. She has us listed and D&J XXXXXXXX. She asked for my phone # and again I told her I was not calling to give her information, but to find out what this was about. She said that her client was Alyon Technologies and that they were collecting for us using their premium web site on January 27th 2003.

I told her that I had all ready had those charges removed by the phone company and told her that I have never been contacted by Alyon for any other payment. So how could they turn me into a collection agency. She told me that they said they had billed me 3 times and I ignored them. I asked her for their phone # and she said that she didn't have that information. So I asked her for their address and she said she did not have that either (odd).

She instructed me to go to their wed site at www.alyon.com/customer service and give them my account #. Which I did not do for fear that I would only end up with other charges. I did not know what I was going to do
Until I went to the computer and keyed in internet (censored)and Rip Off Reports came up. I can't believe that These Two companies are still operating. I just Received another bill from Merchants'Credit Guild again on the 24th of September. I read most of the complaints on this site and I am also ready to fight back.

I intend to send an e-mail to all my freinds and asked them to forward it to everyone so people like me will find a way to stop this if it is happening to them as well.

Merchants collection agency in collusion with Alyon to force people to pay for their illegal activities.

AUTHOR: Stanley - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, September 27, 2003

It appears that Merchants is in collusion with Alyon to force people to pay for their illegal activities.

Send a written complaint and copies of any letters received from Merchants to the FTC and your States Attorney General.

Request an investigation of this collection agency. If the FTC and the various Attorney Generals get enough complaints, they will do to Merchants what they are doing to Alyon--put them out of business.

FTC Press Release: Victims get to refunds, Alyon cannot bill you, if they violate the Judges order, contact FTC!
