First off I would like to say that the statments above are true about Guinea-Bissau it is one of the top countries for adult entertainment I know this because I am an AT&T employee. First off it is very possible to have your computer dial up a number without your consent I was connected to the internet one night and all of the sudden I could hear my computer dial up ( I have dial up service) which alarmed me after closing about 15 windows that I'm not sure how they were open in the first place I got to my dialer which was trying to dial up an international # whch I'm sure was a "porn " site I was unable to cancel the dialing it was as if it had a mind of its own I managed to stop it by actually pulling out my phone card from the computer!! It is an awful way for these companies to get money!! The customer sees this on their phone bill and call in when they are told what the call is for we term it "adult entertainment" they are embarrassed, with no merit all of us rep's know how it work and know you can have this happen without your knowledge, AT&T recognizes this problem as well and grants our customers a One Time Courtesy Adjustment which means guess what AT&T eats up the cost of that call (the company in Guinea-Bissau or whatever country the call is going to) still requires payment for that call!! It is disgusting that they try to steal our money like this ! I wish you luck with your fight against these companies they need to be stopped!!!

Pennsylvania has obtained a consent order similar to the results of the FTC's action. Alyon has to refund $14,000 to 70 consumers they (censored).



A judge in West Virginia has ruled that Alyon cannot do any business in

that State, untill the court trials.



Florida has an ongoing RICO ( (censored)eering) probe of Alyon.



The court cases invoving the company, the FTC and the Attorney Generals begin soon in multiple jurisdictions.



Alyon's expensive lawyer will be very busy (and very costly to Alyon) in the coming months.



Alyon has lost in every situation, so far: the case for massive monetary damages is far stronger. Thousands of complaints to the FTC, FBI, The Post Office and other Federal Agencies, almost every state Attorney General, The BBB and Rip-0ff Report.com

The people that have received bogus bills from this bogus Alyon Technologies have three ways to seek relief:



1) The phone number that Alyon is billing, is not your number. 2)An under-aged person inadvertently accessed Alyon services, while on a game site, or was unauthorized to access services provided by Alyon Technologies 3) The person responsible for the telephone bill says they did not authorize or were unintentionally connected to a pay-website.



Number 1, is easy enough to defend. All you have to do is show that the number billed by Alyon, was not your number.



Number 2, if you have under-aged children in your household, you cannot be held responsible for a child's unauthorized access, intentionally or by accident, to services provided by Alyon.

Alyon went on to say that unless I had additional info indicating that their information was wrong, payment was due within 20 days or they MAY turn the matter over to the collection agency.

I am beginning to become concerned about this matter all over again. The AGs and the FTC have had this case for a matter of several weeks now, but the reports keep rolling in! It is still going on..on all fronts! In fact, after a brief slowdown in reports, it seems as though they are on the increase once again. There seems to be a new phone number and its business as usual for Alyon.



I assume (perhaps wrongly) that the Alyon attorneys are continuing with their assault on this site to have all the Alyon postings removed. Although I do believe that these posts are protected by "freedom of speech" rights, life had become very difficult for the Rip-off Report. ED: perhaps an official update on this matter??...



This has taken longer than Afghanistan and Iraq...it is absurd that there has not been a restraining order against Alyon and ALL its practices until Alyon is able to prove it is on the up-and-up. That can never happen, so it would put a quick end to them. Good-bye, good riddance to bad garbage!!



If anyone has an update on this action in progress against Alyon, please post it here. I can find nothing new on the FTC site or the AG site for my state. I understand that legal actions take time, but the (censored), should not be allowed to continue under a new phone number in the meanwhile. It is ridiculous.

PS. There are now 20 Attorney Generals suing Alyon, not 13. If you get sued by ONE State Attorney General you usually have problems as they are the TOP legal staff in every State. Alyon apparently has 21 lawsuits against them in 20 seperate jurisdictions. That is a lot of well deserved trouble for this nasty company.

After I received a bill for $14.76, from ALYON TECHNOLOGIES, I received an AT&T bill for $56.70. The charges were for a call, I didn't make, to Gui-Bissau. You see, I received telephone charges from ALYON TECHNOLOGIES and AT&T, in the amount of $84.68, for Premium Web Content. The bills stated that I called your country, Gui-bissau to access an Adult Web Site. This is not true. I have never called your country, nor have I used my computer to call an adult web site.



I immediately filed complaints concerning the (censored)business practices of ALYON TECHNOLOGIES with the company, FTC, IFCC-FBI, FCC, USPS, The President of the United States, The Attorney Generals of Illinois, Georgia, and New Jersey (my state and the states where ALYON TECHNOLOGIES does business), The Governors of Illinois, Georgia, and New Jersey, The mayor of Norcross, Georgia and Ripoffreport.com.



AT&T dismissed the charges for the call to your country and I will not pay for the remaining $14.76. ALYON TECHNOLOGIES is engaging in (censored) business practices and it is my understanding that the Federal Trade Commission has filed a law suit against ALYON TECHNOLOGY and that Attorney Generals of 13 states have also filed lawsuits. Interdispersed within these lawsuits, is the name of your country. Apparently, ALYON TECHNOLOGIES and a company in your country, have created a way to putting DIALERS on the computers of people that have not requested it, nor agreed with it. These DIALERS automatically, without consent, dial foreign countries, charging as much as $8.00 a minutes.



It is my understanding that Guinea-Bissau and the United States of American are attempting to stabilize your country's economy in order to bring economic growth and prosperity to your populace. The actions of this company, in your country, is public relations nightmare for your government.



There have been over 1200 complaints to United States agencies.

I received my telephone bill yesterday from AT&T. Guess what? I was billed for a 10 minutes call, to the country of GUI BISSAU, in the amount of $56.70. (Gee, I wonder if GUI BISSAU has an ambassador located in the United Nations building? Believe me, I'm going to try.)



Actually, I wasn't suprised because after reading all the complaints, listed here at ripoffreport.com, I would have been disappointed if AT&T hadn't charged me. My next step? This is heads-up for RIPOFFREPORT.com---I am contacting all the national news agencies about ALYON TECHNOLOGIES. I'm going to give the agencies the information I have acquired through reading the reports on ripoffreport.com and through my personal experience.
