A bait and switch to 27% interest (perfect record) and a nightmare on the phone. The robots they have working in call center have no heart, soul or heartbeat. Don't expect an answer to a simple question like wha is my interest rate. "not allowed". Called to say I would be late on payment of $35. They said call when payment is late. I called. They only want money and will humiliate and drage you down the street to draw and quarter you to get it. ask for a supervisor, not available. another rep? not available. someone will call you back at the earliest in 72 hours. Someone named Norman.

AMAZON should be ashamed to be associated with such an organization and since I cannot reach anyone at Amazon Prime that will connect to the business group managing these bandits, this is the spot.

Responses from Amazon and Syncrony

AUTHOR: - ()

POSTED: Friday, October 06, 2017

Much to the probable dismay of Mr. Anonamous who always chimes in with negative attacks. Today is a new day and comes with a morning call and apology from Syncrony Bank; stating the agents behavior was completely outside the SOP and inexcusable. All of my questions have now been answered satisfactorily, our account is current and handled normally as it should be.

I believe this is the result of a call placed to Amazon corporate, not sure. None the less, Amazon also followed up with their own letter of apology and promise to elevate (attached).

I consider this resolved.

Typical

AUTHOR: Robert - (USA)

POSTED: Friday, October 06, 2017

Oh yes the typical "Oh..I don't like what you are saying and can't defend against it so I am just going to accuse you of working for the company".

Sorry to burst your bubble but no one that posted, including myself, work for either Syncrony or Amazon. Where if you actually took a look around this site for 30 seconds you would see how much that comment actually discredits anything of value you MAY have had. I actually wish I got paid for posting here, or actually even just being acccused of working for a company because I could retire.

The fact is that contrary to your belief credit card companies are not these nice banks who will listen to every "sob story" and just tell you "Oh. no problem Mr./Ms. Card Holder you are going to be late...no problem we care and just pay when you can".

No quite the contrary, just about every single card will say.."Well Mr./Ms. card holder your payment was due at 5PM on the 1st, and you paid us at 5:05PM..sorry we can't waive the late fee and don't care if you had 3 flat tires taking your aging mother to the ER".

Now, as I said..this is MOST banks. There were a handful that have more lienient terms(not sure if they still do though).

Syncrony is a "Private label" Credit Card issuer. I believe they may be the biggest(or one of the biggest) out there. As what are commonly known as "Store branded" cards they generally have higher Interest rates than your Major Credit Cards.

The other comments were also right, your Interest rate was disclosed to you when you openend the account in the Truth in Lending act page. Yes this is FEDERAL law and I can guarantee you that it was provided to you...whether or not you read it is another matter. I can also guarnatee you that your interest rate is on your MONTHLY statement. So there is ZERO reason you should not know what it is..again unless you are not reading your statements.

Comments from anonymous snipers are paid attacks on ripoff report?

AUTHOR: - ()

POSTED: Friday, October 06, 2017

Coward! You are the entitled one thinking you can draw assumptions from thin air and make personal attacks. Who are you? Come forward from your moat of annomity and show yourself. Coward. If you could read you would understand that AMAZON is not the card company but a contracted partner with Syncrony Bank and that they utilize thier corporte logo, and website to promote this institution. Obviously you are a paid sniper for this bank because no other normal person would write the filty attaks that you do. Karma to you.

Sense of Entitlement

AUTHOR: coast - (USA)

POSTED: Thursday, October 05, 2017

The interest rate is noted on every monthly statement.

It is your belief that Amazon and the lender should be ashamed because the lender would not honor your request to alter the terms of a financial agreement by letting the payment “slide”. Apparently you think you’re special and may be suffering from a sense of entitlement.

In the case of the general comment, the person can write but cannot read details apparently, or it just doens't matter, its a bad day and felt like slamming people. I belive I stated that I was calling to say that a payment would be late. Not that it was late. to suppose that I have missed payements or terrible credit is a joke. and then a slam for poor judgement too? I don't wish a medical emergency on anyone, but at the end of the day, life and death takes precddent to a $35 payment that most would have let slide without a call. I hope that nobody has to endure the humiliation that comes from general popuilation fools like this person or Syncrony Bank in the off case that you are faced with an emergency situaiton. Shame on you reader and Syncrony Bank and to Amazon Prime for dealing with such a company.

Perfect Record? Not Anymore....

AUTHOR: John - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, October 05, 2017

If you are late on a payment, you don't have a "perfect record" in making payments.  And if you suddenly have a 27% interest rate, it's probably because you missed a payment.

And if you had good credit going in, why did you get involved with a company charging huge interest rates?

Keep your legal commitments and make your payments on time, and you'll avoid "nightmares" like this.  If I had a penny for every "Ripoff" reported here that involved someone being late on a payment and being butthurt because the company "lacked understanding" and was expected to just "be patient," I'd be rich.

"The only want money...." well, yes.  They want the money you agreed to pay.  Funny how that works.
