I accidentally clicked on one-click buying at amazon.com and did not think i was actually buying a $200 item. when i realized that i had "bought" the item, i contacted amazon. At first they said they would refund my money and cancel my order.
they contacted the seller and cancelled my order, but they would not refund my money.
I contacted customer service several times and they told me because this was a "marketplace" account, the seller would have to refund my money, even though they told the seller NOT to ship my order.
The seller contacted me, and said he would not ship my order (as requested) and that Amazon would automatically refund my money because he marked that it would not be shipped in his account.
But Amazon said that it cannot refund my money. They could cancel my order, but they couldn't refund my money. So I'm out $200 and didn't even receive the item I "purchased". They took that money within seconds of my "placing the order", even though they say those orders can be refunded within 30 minutes. (i checked with my bank to find out about the timing of withdraw)
Not only that, but because of the "ease" of this 'one-click' shopping, i no longer had $200 in my account, causing me to have banking fees for overdrawing my account.
I do not believe that 'one-click' is a good business practice and i will never shop at amazon again. there was never a confirmation and nothing popped up on my screen telling me that i placed an order. I received an email 2 hours later confirming the order. that was not enough time for me to cancel the order.

I am a seller on Amazon and I hope this is not too late but...

The way it works is that when you buy a item from the marketplace it goes into the sellers account immediately. Amazon takes a cut probably about 15 dollars on the 200. Then the money sits their for a designated period of time, 3-10 days usually and then the seller is able to withdraw it into their personal checking account or redeem it as a Amazon gift code. It does not matter what the status of the order is, the fact is the seller has your money and they are trying to pull one over on you by saying Amazon will return your money. It is similar to Ebay, when you buy an item there, the seller and buyer are responsible, Ebay just provides the market in which to sell the item, the same on Amazon. I would leave negative feedback immediately or file a complaint with Amazon, there should be a button on the order status page that says something like "problem with order" click that and continue. Once again this seller is dishonest and this is not Amazons fault, well besides their negligence.

I am really surprised you are having such a problem with Amazon.com, I have been purchasing items from them for many years and never once did i have a problem.
ebay, well thats another story, i have had many problems with them and their sellers, so much so that i never will use them again.
As far as amazon just keep contacting them and explain the situation Im sure they will refund your money.
