I was selling DVDs online to make some extra money during the holidays. I am planning on starting my own small business in 2008 and figured I would start early since Amazon.com provides an easy venue to do business. My brother and I both created separate seller accounts. We began in October and were doing ok. Between both accounts we made over $5000.00.
Last week people began leaving feedbacks. My brother received more negatives than positives. People claimed they didn't receive their stuff or that he was selling bootlegs. He even had people threatening to leave him negative feedback just to get the money back. To make a long story short his Amazon.com account was blocked. A couple days later my amazon.com account was blocked because of the apparent relation to his account.
When I responded to the blocking I received the following message, which by the way is very similar to the original:
Hello from Amazon.com.
Thank you for writing. We understand your concern about this situation.
We are unable to provide detailed information on how we link related accounts. However, we have thoroughly reviewed our records and confirmed that we have significant evidence that your account is related to another account previously blocked for policy violations.
If you still have items to ship, please take appropriate steps to resolve your pending sales. Your Seller Account will remain accessible and you are encouraged to refund or ship pending orders.
Any remaining funds may be reserved for up to 90 days from the date of your final sale. After 90 days, the funds will be disbursed, provided we do not receive charge-backs or A-to-Z Guarantee claims against your
sales. If you have further questions about your disbursement, please email payments-funds@amazon.com.
While we appreciate your interest, please understand that the closure of an account is a permanent action. Any subsequent accounts that are opened will be closed as well. Thank you for your understanding with
our decision.
Best regards,
Alliance Program

============================
I responded back promptly letting them know that I have consulted a lawyer on the issue and that I have a legitimate case against them. I may be filing suit soon since I have not violated any of their policies and have an almost perfect feedback rating. Shortly before Amazon.com canceled my seller account I received an e-mail about performance and thus the common holding made money for 90 days or more issue. "Your Amazon.com account is under review."
My brother and I have joined the ranks of all the other former Amazon.com sellers who have been victimized by the customer always wins policy of Amazon.com A-Z claims are almost never won by the seller. I had a representative tell me on the phone that even if you provide delivery confirmations for orders, if the customer says they didn't receive it Amazon.com "takes their word for it. The only way to beat an A-Z claim is to ship all orders with SIGNATURE REQUIRED delivery confirmations." Lets remember now that Amazon.com only provides sellers with a $2.98 shipping credit no matter what you sell. Customers pull all kinds of scams, especially over the holidays and get their money back no matter what! I am now awaiting my response from Amazon.com but I am assuming they will have to be sued in order to be reasoned with.
WE NEED TO BOYCOTT THIS LESS THAN REPUTABLE COMPANY!

Same exact situation happened with me, word for word.

A malicious buyer went ahead and ordered something from my account whom I was not aware of, and did not check their reputation which was full of complaints.
They then proceeded to damage the product I sold to them deliberately, in that case a brand new camera but before it was DVDs, CDs, pretty much anything you can name - and then file an A to Z guarantee claim against my seller account implying I sent them broken merchandise not in perfect condition.
I had the pictures as proof showing it was exactly what they paid for, and the malicious buyer ended up causing a full refund against my account for the merchandise HE broke.
This combined with a mistake where I accidentally shipped something to a buyer that was in damaged condition, even after I issued a refund & promptly apologized was enough for Amazon to permanently close my account with no reasons specified.
This despite the fact there is proof the malicious buyer purchased from me with the intention of breaking my product, and it having happened to many others. And just like that a thousand plus dollars gone & I also managed to get all my other account information deleted so Amazon couldn't get a cent.
Talk about ridiculous, ANY class action against a company as arrogant as Amazon.com IS A VERY GOOD THING. Or ANYONE who is even SIMILAR to AMAZON.COM, such as EBAY, or ANY of those others, as they all treat people like dirt and abide by a bullshit policy of "LAW OF AVERAGES" even when the "LAW OF AVERAGES" is a license to basically steal!!!!! They are CRAP!

I am a victim, too.

I just had my account closed, too. First, they suspended my account for having too many "not in stock" refunds - which was legitimate. Then they unsuspended it. After I successfully fulfilled 30 more orders without any refunds, they sent me email that my account was permanently closed and that I may no longer sell. I gave them an excel file of my orders with all tracking numbers which were delievered. They said the account will remain closed, that they will not provide any additional information and that any additional communication will not be answered. If there's more people, we need to file a lawsuit again amazon...

I have the same exact letter. I had the review and then blocked 2 days later. I have 100% feedback. Are you suing them? If so can i join forces becuase they blocked me and i have thousands of dollars in there. They are not willing to talk to me about it. They are also costing me alot of money in sales.

I understand your frustration. But as an Amazon consumer for 8 years, I have only had one bad experience and it wasn't due to amazon. It was due to a seller (a new company) that I made a purchase with. I emailed the company twice after a month and a half of not getting my product with no avail. Amazons A to Z saved me from getting screwed out of money. Hopefully you were not with that company. I sure hope you get everything worked out but remember some consumers are honest people who do not receive what was taken out of their account. And thanks to Amazons A to Z we didn't get screwed. Take care and good luck.

Everyone is right after a month of selling on Amazon they blocked my account stating I wasn't a "pre approved" seller. Now in that month I had several conversations on the phone with Amazon Representatives NONE of which told me I needed to be pre authorized. Additionally when I researched if further on Amazon.com I found out they Amazon "isn't accepting applications for pre approval anymore" They are blocking people from becoming sellers on amazon, but not right away, only after they make some money off of you first. I don't know that much about it but I would think these kind of practices would be some kind of Anti-Trust violation, they are forcefully blocking out anytype of competitive selling on Amazon.com. Please keep me informed of any actions that might be taken against them.

AMAZON.COM BLOCKED MY SELLER ACCOUNT, TOO. - "POWERS-THAT-BE" HIDE BEHIND E-MAILS

Response to: Thefinalattempte,
I was accused of selling copied DVDs by a Buyer.
Oddly enough, I listed my DVDs using the BAR CODE Number on the back of the Cases. - The EXACT SAME DVDs that other sellers are listing w/no problems at all.
In fact, I share a Supplier with one of my former competitors, yet somehow, MY DVDs are copies/bootlegs, and his aren't? - And neither are any of the other sellers who list DVDs with the same Bar Code numbers as mine??? Where's the logic in this?
I will be filing a seperate Rip-Off Report, tomorrow, with all the details of what happened. (It's quite late for me, right now, and having my Seller Account terminated has affected my, already, poor health). - Since I'm ill/housebound, I cannot go out and find another type of employment. - I cannot sell on eBay, because I'd be competing against all the Suppliers. Other online marketplaces don't generate nearly as much traffic as Amazon does. So, not only am I stuck with Inventory I cannot sell, I've also lost my only means of being able to earn some extra money to help put my kids through college.
Anyway; I will be making a full report tomorrow.
Good Luck.
