AMC Mortgage Services lies to us and then proceeds with foreclosure Ripoff Orange California

We started to fall 2 months behind on our mortgage back in December 2006 due to a hardship. My husband called AMC to try and make a payment arrangement. After an hour (no exaggeration) of begging and pleading, they transferred him over to another department to work out a payment arrangement. We didn't realize until much later that AMC actually transferred my husband to a different company altogether, called Springboard Non-Profit Consumer Credit Management. He spoke to a gentleman by the name of Victor Martinez. Victor came up with an arrangement that was doable. He told my husband that he would get our paperwork together and send it to Edlyn Delano. He then gave my husband, Edlyn's phone number and ext and told him to follow up the following week to confirm our arrangement. My husband called Edlyn for two weeks before Edlyn finally returned our phone call. She stated that she did not know what we were talking about. You would think that after two weeks of voicemails, she might want to check into what we were talking about. My husband called Victor back, this is when we discovered that he was with a different company. Victor stated that our paperwork must have gotten lost but reassured us that he had sent it and would send it again. He also reassured us that the original payment arrangement would be honored.

During this time, I was concerned that we would fall further into debt, so, I sent a full month's payment to AMC. They returned it to me, stating that it did not bring the account current. Hello? You would think that there would be notes in their computer system stating that we are working on a payment plan. AND, why oh why would they turn away a full month's payment?? $1478.10 sent back.

A week later, I come home to find papers shoved through my front door. My husband and I had been served foreclosure papers!!! I couldn't believe it! I was under the impression that we were working with AMC to rectify our account!

We have had many phone calls back and forth with AMC. I have discovered that no one communicates in that company. Customer's accounts are not handled properly. We contacted our state's assistant attorney general who has acted as a mediator. She asked AMC to offer us an affordable payment plan. It has not been effective, except to delay foreclosure proceedings. Here's the deal, it is not fair to make us pay back a payment plan that covers 8 months, plus late fees. It is beyond what we can afford. Our original plan only included 2 months and would have been paid in 7 months. What they are offering us now is 36 months. We cannot afford to strap ourselves like that for 3 years. It was not our mistake. We made our phonecalls. We followed through. We were misled by AMC and Springboard. I am in the process of attempting a media blitz on these companies. It is not fair to take advantage of hardworking people like this and force them to lose their homes.
