AmerAssist A/R Solutions Not worth the money, big promises upfront and little performance, plus hidden fees Westerville Ohio

We signed up for AmerAssist over a year ago now to handle a portion of our delinquent accounts, and bought their great sales pitch where they basically guarantee you "99%" collections.  The sales rep said he's very involved and will stay in contact frequently to make sure everything is going well.

Here's the truth:  they charge you a lot of money upfront, which I was happy to pay if I was going to get that kind of guarantee.  Well, I didn't get that performance, they collection $3000 of $12000 in the first round, not quite the "99%".  How many times did I hear from the rep? Only once after the contract was signed and they charged our credit card.  And now, today I get an invoice for "annual computer maintence" for $75.  Shocker that that wasn't part of the sales pitch but a nice hidden cost that works very well into their scheme.

See, they can guarantee the "99%" because if they do not collect in the first stage, it gets sent onto to legal (which is actually sent to their inhouse lawyers), and then you get to submit another account to take that place.  This way even if they fail at collecting, which they are supposed to be good at, they keep you as a customer.  Because these efforts take time, it ensures them extra time to add fees and other costs that just raise their bottom line.

Basically, this company is a not a scam.  It's just not the great collection solution that they portray themselves as.  In the end, they perform no better, and in our case, worse than other collections agencies that charge far less.  My advice, find another agency.
