This company is a major Rip-Off!!! And I'm not sure why different employment websites like Indeed are supporting them.  I first ran into the ad for employment for a Flight attendant and getting started for a new career.  I then continued to read the ad then stated to call this 1-800 phone number which i can't find anymore online.  I called the phone number it was a voice recording from this lady maybe its this Yvone Foxworth that i see on all the paper work online.  So the recording stated to send in a money order for $39.00 and to put your full name, address, and the Position you were interested in for airline employment.  It said to send it in as soon as possible because it was based on a first come first save basis.  I imediatly sent the information in specifically like they asked.  The Voicemail message was very detailed on what to do.  I then received this email about 2 weeks later with links to other emloyment websites.  It WAS NO HELP AT ALL!!!! None of the links were a help all the jobs were out of date or did not even exist.  I felt like a complete idiot and i wasted $39.00 i felt like i just threw it away.  Also the jobs with the links none were in the state i live in and i actually found out that Delta Airlines was hiring in my area through their website.  But this position WAS NEVER POSTED ON ANY OF THE LINKS SENT BY AMERICAN CAREERS.  I have not been able to get in touch with anyone for help like they stated and have not received a return email from this Yvone Foxworth!!!!! I'm DISGUSTED THEY NEED TO STOP RIPPING PEOPLE OFF!!! I've seen other complaints about this company and they are still RIPPING PEOPLE OFF THEY NEED TO BE STOPPED!!!!

OK folks; please let me try to shed a little light on this thread.

First off, my name is Yvonne Foxworth. I'm a Career Counselor at American Careers (NYC offices).  For the doubters out there, I must say sorry for any confusion or misconceptions about us, but we certainly are NOT a scam. I've been here for many years. Indeed, I'm very happy with the results I have personally obtained from the many Applicants I've assisted to gain employment at various airports/airlines across the USA. Success stories with many different types of Positions, at varying pay rates, anywhere from $14 to $22 / hour.

Regarding our Service, we simply assist Applicants obtain employment through the information that we email/mail them to get them started with the Application Process. We then follow up with phone support via our Career Counselors to assist them in every aspect of the Application Process (Application, Resume, Cover Letters, Thank You Letters, Interviewing Techniques, etc) through our Airline Career Development Guide & our Airline Hiring Update, which includes current listings of Airline Positions & descriptions which the Applicant may then apply for at various Airlines. We will attempt to obtain as many interviews for the Applicant as we possibly can. The $39 one-time fee we charge is refundable in the event we are unable to obtain employment for the Applicant.  Details are included in the paperwork the Applicant receives.  This is a vast amount of information & assistance which could potentially require many hours to perform individually. Please visit our website listed below:

http://www.AmericanCareers.us

We have many success stories here with regard to Applicants who have taken the time & effort to read / follow the instructions listed in our Program, and have indeed obtained employment at various Airports across the USA. Obtaining employment takes time and effort. If Applicants are not willing to follow instructions or contact us for help, we can't possibly assist in those efforts. I will gladly personally assist anyone out there in their efforts to obtain employment.
Sincerely,

Yvonne Foxworth

American Careers helped me!!!

American Careers is an outstanding choice when you need help to obtain your career goals!!! I'm sure that   employment websites such as Indeed are supporting them because they offer services that help individuals such as myself, to obtain their career goals.  When I first viewed the advertisement I was taken directly to American Careers website. I was interested in a management position within the airlines.  I read over the website and called 443-898-9990.  As a hint, if anyone goes directly to American Careers website, they will find that there are no 1-800 numbers. Anyway, I called the phone number and it was a hotline message that gave explicit directions on what I should do if I wanted to persue American Careers services. I wanted a little more information so I called 718-690-7056 and was able to speak with Joe Preston.  He gave me a plethora of information.  I then gathered my information and payment and sent it into the processing center in Baltimore, MD.  I reeived "Career Develpment Guide, applicant id#, and application approxmately 5 days from the time that I mailed in my information and payment to Baltimore, MD.I read through my guide as Joe had told me to do and then I called him the following day.  The first day he helped me to construct my resume, cover letter, and thank you letter.  We began the application process right away.  Joe spent allot of time going over interview questions with me so that I could have utmost confidene in my interview.  I cannot think him enough for all of the help and time that he spent preparing me for my career.

As far as job links etc. , I am not sure of what all of the complaints are about, I had no problem with any of the links, also Joe supplied me with a hiring update.  If consumers read through the guide they will find that it states to ask for the career update with the listings of the current positions in your area.  Bottm line is, if you call American Careers and follow directions and apply yourself by doing your due then you will have a career.  IF you get on Rip off Report to compain instead of calling then well we see that you are one of the few that haven't done as they should and have been unable to obtain a career of their choosing.  Just my two cents, I am satisfied with the help that I obtained.  If you still care for a career in the airlines I am sure that your career counselor will be more than happy to work with you.  Why not try giving them a call.  I have kindly listed the number for you...  Here it is again...so that you don't have to read any further 718-690-7056.   Best of luck.
