Twice this company tried to collect from me for a fraudulent charge on a cancelled PayPal account. Twice I asked for documentation on this claim, even to the date of the claim since I cancelled PayPal some time ago. They have never given me any proof of the charge. I use Equifax credit protection services and they have never received information about this alleged claim. It is not clear whether PayPal filed the claim or the person who fraudulently made the charge. I have asked PayPal to clarify the charge and they have not done so.

wow, the consumer response before mine is definitely some representative from the company ACI,  I just got a collection notice from these bozos about a paypal account, and the funny thing is, I have never had a paypal account.  these collection agencies should come by my house and knock on my door to colect,   mafia style

I don't think that it is an issue with American Coradius International. If this was previously paid/ or fraud issue with another agency, it is that agencies responsibility to take the proper steps to close out your account. I had a bill with them and it happened the same way with myself. However it was a different creditor. They took the proper steps that they could to get this resolved with the creditor. You cant get upset at the collector who just has minimum information in front of them. That is why he/she is calling you. Obviously there is an issue. A lot of agencies are so bound by the FDCPA and the FTC these days, that there is no reason for American coradius international to be lying to you about this. They don't want to lose their jobs/company over this.

You said that you contacted PayPal as well? Have they gotten back to you yet? If they haven't then that is an issue. You think at it is American coradius' fault? It's not. It is Paypal. I would be ticked at PayPal. If it is fraud, you need to file a police report. Collectors don't get that info. It is your job as the consumer to make sure any and all fraud charges have stuck with the creditor. You need to follow up with them. It's as simple as contacting your cities police dept. and get a copy and fax it to them.

Also, just a tip, most collection agencies and creditors almost always report to Transunion. Not every thing that you have out there will be on each report. Transunion is reported to more widely than Experian or Equifax. I have compared my three bureaus and Transunion has all of my creditors on my report. The other two were quite spotty.

Just a friendly rebuttal to help you take the necessary steps! Loosen up on the collector! If you do some research on ACI like I did, you will find that there are barely any complaints on them and that they do have an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau!

Good Luck
