Credit repair companies don't do anything you cannot do for yourself. The one thing they do that you do not is knock your credit into the dirt. Then charge you for it. How nice! My credit wasn't great to begin with (mid 600's) and after ACE got done with it my credit was even worse (upper 400's). That's right folks, my credit score went DOWN over 200 points.

What they did was flood the CRA's with dispute letters. CRA's don't investigate anything anyway and they certainly don't investigate anything that isn't from an individual consumer. The way it works is dispute letters are given to some flunkie who MIGHT look at your dispute letter. If he or she does then this person gets on a computer and looks at codes. These codes are linked to a pre-packaged response to a TL dispute. Then said flunkie just types in a code that may or may not be accurate, this gets attached to your credit portfolio and then your letter winds up in the trash can. This is the CRA's definition of "investigating" a dispute. I am sure you have noticed that the lettes from a CRA is a form letter that is computer generated.

Anyway, get a copy of your credit from all three CRA's. If there is something you do not agree with, send a dispute letter to the company reporting the erroneous information. By law they are supposed to report to the CRA's that what they are reporting is disputed. Then write the CRA's and dispute the same items. In an ideal world the CRA's will come back with the item being disputed. If not you have cause for action under FDCPA/FCRA against the CRA, reporting company or both. Rumour has it the CRA's are all getting sued for all kinds of FDCPA and FCRA violations. Cheers!

The FTC sued in October 2008 American Credit Experts for charging money in advance and make false claims, two things against the Credit Repair Organizations Act.

It is true that simple disputes to the credit bureaus cannot trash a credit report, obviously this complaint is just a fake but it is also true that disputes if are not done by a professional compliant with the laws can trigger a lawsuit from the creditors. When those sloppy credit repair guys are done the client has the same bad accounts he had at the beginning plus a few judgments and maybe his wages garnished.

If somebody wants to hire a credit repair firm look for one that does not charge anything before they get an account deleted, pay only for results. There is couple of companies out there doing exactly that. Pay per removal as you go.

According to the company files this person was never a client of American Credit Experts or any of its related companies.

While it id possible for a clients score to go down, they are informed of this before beginning the credit repair process.

The way this happens is the client has no positive information and the removal of some or al;l items negative causes a drop in score or elimination of any score at all.

This still allows an individual to begin to re-establish new credit which we can advise them how.

ACE' has helped countless thousands of clients over the years and it would be impossibe for everyone to be completely satisfied all the time. HOWEVER ACE has an outstanding record with the BBB as we always answer even the most outlandish complaints.

As we have no record of this individual it is impossible to help him.

First off let me start by saying that I am NOT a stockholder, owner, employee or connected financially in any sort of way with American Credit Experts. I am just a client who started over a year and a half ago with them. At first like everyone else I was skeptical they could help me with my bad credit (yes it was horrible) but after a while I realized they were telling the truth. They warned me about everything that was going to happen and what they could do for my credit file. So far they have backed up everything they have said. Now it hasn't been easy but when you go from a credit score of 490 to 600 that's something to talk about. Your score will fluctuate while you're on the program but that's bc these credit reporting agencies want to punish you for having old debts or paying them off years later. I also had some old debts pop up bc it was sent to other collection agencies.

I admit I had alot of bad accounts on my report including a judgement from a lawyer who took a debt of $14k, added interest to it (about $4k) and made it into two debts. That's right, I had a $14k and a $18k judgement on my credit report when there was only suppose to be one. It takes forever for these CRA's to listen, let alone investigate. ACE took ALL of it off plus the fact that I started out with over 28 derrogatories on each credit report and today I am only down to, 7 on TransUnion, 10 on Experian and 6 on Equifax. They also took care of my deliquencies which went anywhere from 7 to 10 on each credit file down to zero today. Yes the program does work if you follow their advice and give the program TIME to work especially when ACE tells you to send them any updates from the credit reporting companies which they DO send informing you of your updated report to make sure your file is moving in the right direction. Yes folks, as with everything else in life, PATIENCE is key and believe me I am not very patient when it comes to results bc I want things right now but I am very glad I waited.

ACE has been nothing but supportive even helping me out last year when I almost cancelled bc I couldn't pay and they gave me that month free. Another time they convinced me to stay was back in April of last year when I first started bc the credit bureaus were telling me everything was investigated and correct on my file. Nothing could be farther from the truth! As soon as ACE's rep told me to give them two more weeks (after only being with them for only 3 months) and things will start coming off or they will refund me the $120 I had spent so far in the program. No sooner he said that about 3 days later I checked my credit and several accounts came off. Since then over 58 invalid or unverifiable accounts came off my credit including the 2 judgements. YES I HAVE DOCUMENTED PROOF! ACE will send you the corrected file plus they will send you your old credit file so you can compare for yourself what was deleted or corrected. They EVEN got many late payments to come off some of my accounts which brought my scores up.

Recently there was a billing error with ACE on my bank statement bc I was accidentally double billed which caused my account to go into the negative. The billing rep Aex took care of my problem within 48 hrs. They not only refunded the extra charge but they PAID all (5) of my bounce fees that occurred. I just simply gave them a credit card to charge me from now on instead of my debit bc it is easier and I won't have to go through any hassles with my bank in case of any mistakes that might happen in the future.

In closing, I can't stand it when people make excuses bc you know they don't want to commit to something and then say "they charged me $59.00 when I didn't want them to". Then DON'T give out your personal account information. ACE reps are not forcing your arm to join the program. It works if you want it to work. I only have maybe another 6 to 8 months to go and I should be done but so far I have recommended this program to five people who signed up this year. I intend to continue letting people know about ACE. They even pay you for the referrals.

Thank you Mel Kessler for the hard work your company does. You are telling the truth when it comes to the billing issues and how your company helps people with bad credit. These people that are complaining (although a few might have a legitament gripe) want you to pass the magic wand and make everything happen right now but the reality is that just like fine wine, it takes TIME to get the right results.

I attemped to look up this client to see why heregistered a complaint.

I found that we do not have any record of this client or for that matter any client in Bountiful Utah and I would like this individual to call me to reslove his complaint.

The work we do can in NO WAY trash a credit report. A client can not be harmed by our work and if we are unsuccessful after 2 attempts we refund all monies for credirt repair if requested.

The only money non refundable money is the File Set up the cost of the 3 reports and the analysis of reports sent o client before we begin challenges.

Me again.
Forget about getting a refund. I closed my account they were debiting and called for a refund. It was an exercise in futility. They gave me the usual "it just takes time". True but they said that three months was the maximun before I would see dramatic results. Boy were they right in the form of a 200 plus points creaming of my already shakey credit score. When I asked for a refund, without any thought whatsoever the little voice on the phone said "no". In fact the litte voice wanted me to immediately give her my new bank account information so they could continue to provide their service. HA!
So I am taking this as a lesson learned and passing this on to the rest of you so you will not use ACE. Or any other credit repair agency. They do not work. Cheers!
