American Freedom Insurance Alan Holding a insurance claim check because I can't drive to Franklin Park to get my vehicle fixed and my estimates near my home are 500 to 700 more than the check he wants me to sign off on. Arlington Heights, Illinois

Back in August my son was hit by an American Freedom insured driver.  Still to this day 2/23/12 I have not received a check for the damage to my son's vehicle.  I have two estimates from body shops near my home less than 10 minutes away, one is $1,800 estimate and the other is over $1,500, they are offering me a check for 1,089. They sent me a letter to sign off on to accept this offer from their body shop, which is 40 minutes from my home. 

I have spoke to many of their employees and my final step was the office manager Alan who said there is nothing he can do, $1,089.  is what they are going to pay and that is final.  I asked Alan who his boss is and he said he doesn't have one, everyone has a boss unless they are the owner, which I don't believe he is.  I told him I was the only driver in the house is someone willing to drive me back home, he said "I don't know if they provide that"  my son is away at college and I was hoping to have his vehicle fixed by the time he came home for summer.  HA HA

I contacted my insurance company and they agreed with me that I should not sign anything until all work is done and that they don't find other things wrong with the vehicle, when fixing it.  Alan said once I sign the letter that is it, $1089. He we are 6 months later and my vehicle has a bungee cord holding on the front bumper, and are not any closer to getting it fixed than I was the day of the accident.

Stay away from American Freedom Insurance Company in Arlington Heights they obviously don't want to satisfy their customers.  Is cheap insurance really worth all this. I guess they want to go to court over $400.00.
