American Grant scam that promises you will receive $5000 but they want $249 out of your checking account internet

on april 11 a foreign speaking man called and said i had been selected along with 300 people in my town to receive an $5000 grant i had never heard about this and was half asleep so i believed what he said and gave him my checking account information.

he kept asking when i would have $249 in my account at this point i knew i was in trouble he gave me an customer service number 866-454-4564 i called this numerous times until they finally answered i told him i was canceling the whole thing and my bank was aware of them and a stop payment had been placed on my account.

i feel really stupid and mad about this whole scam i work hard for my money and all they do is lie to get their money something has to be done to stop this i have had to go to my bank and be embarassed and humiliated to admit i believed a scam i had to close my account to have any peace of mind but it will never happen to me again and i will do all i can to make sure it doesnt happen to anyone else!!!!!!!!!!!!!
