Foreclosure

POSTED: Wednesday, March 11, 2015

After being unemployed for 10 months when the automotive industry went in the toilet in 08, AHMSI took over my mortgage and  my nightmare got worse   . I started dealing with them phone call after phone call. Dealing with people that could not speak good english and were hard to understand. After faxing info after info for weeks, supposedly with the HAMP program Obama set in place to keep home owners from loosing their homes to foreclosure.    After months of back and forth, I had supposedly refinanced to keep my home of 20 years . Payments did not drop as per the HAMP program stated. But I still had my home so I thought all was still ok. Later at the end of the year I found out my taxes and escrow were not firgured in as they were supposed to be as per our verbal agreement . The phone calls started again. Also AHMSI became Homeward Residential. To fix my problem, I had to start a refinance again and was told I had payed long enough to be eligable to do so. We started all over again. Let it be known it was all done over the phone except for paperwork I was mailed to fill out. Also when this process starts, NO payments would be accepted. It seemed they would make up excuse after excuse why we couldnt get this the paperwork or info straight. It was amazing that I had been refinanced before but they could not get it to go through this time. All my info was the same and nothing had changed Also everytime we talked about the amount needed to get me caught up and everthing smoothed out the amount was different. The amount ranged from 20,000.00 , 18,000.00, 14,000.00 and so on with several different calls.  Finally after several months and scavaging for all the money I could get my hands on they told me 6500.00 would be the amount to send. I was told I had 5 business days to get them the money. That was on Wednesday afternoon. I also told them I was working out of town and it would take a couple of days to get it handled. No problem they said. I sent the money via moneygram the following Saturday. I also called On Monday to make sure they recieved payment and was told all was good. It was several days or weeks later I was informed I was in breach of contract because I didnt send the money fast enough. I was given 5 business days by phone. It was there in 3 days and I also followed up with a phone call and all was good. So here we go again. To fix this we had to start all over. I wish i had recorded the conversations now that I look back. And I kept asking how to fix this so I would not be foreclosed on. They kept telling me it was going to be handled and that wouldnt happen. Longer story short, I contacted CAS they got envolved and even they contacted Wells fargo who had my mortgage at that time and could not find any of my info like I didnt exist. Next thing I know I was informed I had so many days to get out of my house of 20 years. After paying attorney fees and moving out into a rent house, Ive lost countless nights sleep. Im extremely upset that someone else lives in my home of 20 years and got it for 52,000.00.

There is a whole lot of info missing from your story. It sounds like you had a variable rate mortgage or it went up due to higher taxes and/or insurance. Did you try for a modification and then start missing your mod payments?
