American Home Shield AHS Stay Away ... Cannot service their customers Nationwide Nationwide

Haing 2 policies with AHS on my rental units, for 10+ years I have had enough.  First, they will try anything to get out of fixing your problem.  Eg:  My garage door opener stopped working.  I paid my $75 service fee and the contractor who wnet out there, Phillips Garage Door Service in Fresno, CA, said the bolts were incorrect for the opener.  This opener was installed before final inspection when property was being built, and was in place for 22 years.  What a bunch of garbage.  Another instance of a different opener at another property, company said springs were wrong.  Again, springs were original when building was built in 1984.  The spring was still good, but opener was broken.  Repair denied, cost me $75 for that.  The straw that broke the camels back was request for AC repair on June 30th.  Paid my $75, assigned a contractor, had an appointment for my tenant, and 10 days later contractor failed to show up for appointments.  Called AHS every day, on hold in excess of 49+ minutes each time.  They had no one available to fix AC.  They said I could find my own contractor, which I did, who did work for AHS, but they refused to approve their service charges.  Finally I cancelled the contract and paid $450 out of my pocket to fix problem.  At the same time, I filed a complaint with the California Department of Insurance.  I urge everyone else in California to do the same at:  insurance.ca.gov.  The key words to use in the complaint is that "AHS has a fiduciary responsibility to their policy to service their policies in an efficient and adequate manner", and there, they fail miserably.  I am not backing down on this and will continue to be a thorn in their side until I get satisfaction.
