I knew American Income Life was a scam as soon as they contacted me. I don't need to explain their scam...just put American Income Life into a search here at Rip Off Reports and you'll hear aaaaaaaall about it. But let me give everyone a heads up as to how to spot scam jobs...I fell for it through 3 interviews with Primerica (same scheme), but would never fall for it again.

1. When they send you an e-mail that says "Dear [YOUR NAME IN CAPS HERE]" and/or "This is TASHA SMITH (or other name in CAPS)from [insert scam company here]." This is just like a form letter. They did not read and get impressed by your resume...they found out you were looking for a job and shot over a mass e-mail. Does the job sound appealing now? You could be (and are) anyone.

2. They are quick to tell you all about the money you could make and all the wonderful adjectives to describe this 'perfect' opportunity, but will barely tell you a thing about the job responsibilities.

3. When you wonder why you are being interviewed for an entry-level position and feel overqualified to be at the bottom, they tell you that everyone starts here but YOU CAN BE A MANAGER/TOP AGENT/MAKING A 6-FIGURE INCOME SOON! If was that easy there would be lines out there door for blocks. If it sounds to good to be true...IT IS!

4. You have to pay for training, background check, license, or ANYTHING! Do not pay to start a job! If you were a valued prospective employee, real employers would invest time and money into you like all real employers do for each and every new hire. And as for an insurance license, that should not be done through the same company you are working for.

5. The ad and/or the company says that there is no education requirement. That is not to say that all uneducated people are stupid...but do uneducated people typically make 6 figure incomes? (besides actors and pop stars)? If you don't believe me that this is a deterrent, then send them a horribly misspelled e-mail from a different e-mail address stating you are looking for a job and they seem like a good company or some B.S., but that you dropped out of school in the [pick a low grade here] grade. Would they still potentially hire you? When you get your answer back, then you'll see.

6. Their website, JUST LIKE AMERICAN INCOME LIFE, says little to nothing about the actual product, which is why most people go to the company website in the first place. Instead, all of it's force is focused on career opportunities. Career for what? The product they're barely selling?

In closing, these are ALL RED FLAGS. When we ignore them, we become victims, and the people running these pyramid scams drive Benzes and Jags as we struggle to pay bills. Don't overlook these flags by saying "I know it sounds bad, but I really need the money..." because you'll end up working to the bone for next to nothing, with no time to keep searching for a legitimate job. That's where they want you.

THE LAW

This is in response to Danielle from Parma Ohios comment on American income life, first off its a STATE LAW that you take 40hrs of insurance class, these moneys must be submitted to an authorized instructor without any ties to any admitted insurance company. That means they cant have access to the training money, further more the form letter is cheesy i agree but in the insurance sector it is very hard to hire someone moving from an 40hr work week to a commission only based job. While i myself get those stupid e-mails the fault isnt american income life but rather the moster.coms or whatever job search engine you are using.I can only speak for Ohio but i just recently took the state exam. It is a law that you take that training it is also a LAW that you can not recive anytype of compensation from any agency or company until you pass the state exam, so they cannot pay for training or anything else until you have a licsens. Its kinda dumb but its there to stop companys from hiring a million agents without anytype of control. The ohio department of Insurance regulates all agents and agencies very strictly. If you have a real complaint about this company i would bring it up to them. However your complaint has no merit. American Income Life was simply following the law.One other thing what type of product would you like them to show?????
a piece of paper that says insurance policy? They dont sell it online because laws are very differant from state to state and the industry is built around commision,it wouldnt be fair to their agents. Danielle it sounds as if you didnt do any research into the insurance field at all and are slamming this company out of ignorance. Please check the OHIO DEPARTMENT OF INSURANCE for the details surronding this industry and reply apologising for your bad judgment.
Oh by the way, Im not affiliated with them at all, but rather recently went through all the hoops and such the state requires to be license
