American Medical Security ripoff by AMS Greenbay Wisconsin

I was with American Medical Security for a couple of years. When I signed up I got a good rating. Then when I went to the doctor a couple of times I started getting calls from AMS about health questions etc...even though I was very clear that I never had anything wrong with me. I was clear that I was in perfect health. No pre-exisiting conditions. The visits were for minor stuff like colds and a bout with a minor case of flu. I knew something was up when I was getting calls from them asking me all those questions!

Well my premiums for my family were 428 a month when I started. Then 6 months ago I had a mild heart attack in which they gave me hell..but they paid. Then came the big suprise. They underwrote me again AFTER I had open heart surgery and racked up my premium to 1523 a month! I could not ever afford that! They stated that they have the right to re-underwrite after my surgery.
This company screws people. They have a third party administrator that is allowed in their policies to have customers who have claims to be underwritten again. In my case, there is fine print in the contract that allows them to do this. Dont be scammed like me people...find another reputable company to get your health insurance. I had to cancel my health insurance and go in the risk pool with the state. Going with AMS was the worst mistake of my life.
