American Standard Financail representatives called my phone and offered me a federal grant of 4000 dollars. Initally when they called I believed that it was some sort of scam. They then told me that they were government funded and that is how they obtained my peronal informations such as my social security number, phone number and home address.

I was still a bit suspicious so I questioned the represetative asking them where they were located and how the process would work. They assured me that I had nothing to worry about and that all of their customers were very satisfied and preceeded to set up a date for the processing fee of 359 dollars to be takking out of my bank account.

They said it would take 4 to 6 weeks for me to recieve a packet in the mail that I was to fill out and send back as soon as posible. It infact took them 12 weeks for me to recieve the information packet. Over this period of time I had called the customer service number that they had provided to me several times and asked them what was taking so long: they informed me that the company had moved from the U.S to Barbadose.

When I finally reieved the packet my nerves were put to ease from thinking that I had been scammed. In the back of the packet that I recieved I read that it would take 8 to 10 weeks for my paper work to be processed.

The noted time had passed and I had not recieved anything in the mail. I again called the customer service number and asked them what the hold up was on my paper work. They would always tell me that I would recieve it either within the next week to two weeks.

Every time I called the customers service number I would always ask for the name and badge number of the person who was assisting me. They not only did not have badge numbers but when I asked their name they would reluctantly give me their first name and never would give me their last name and the conversation would always be very brief after I had been holding on the line for up to 45 minuets at a time.

In the earlier part of October I called and that is when the representative informed me that it would take two weeks and call periodically to check on the processing. At the end of October I was told that I could recieve my grant at the beginning of November on the first Friday of that week.

I called the following Monday to let them know I did not recieve so much as a phone call regarding my grant. They told me that the systems were down and asured me that I would reicive a call by that Friday. I called that Friday and notified them that that was the day that I was supposed to recieve a call about my grant, they agreed and told me that I should recieve the call yet I never got a call.

I called again that following week and asked about the process and why it was taking so long for me to recieving any accurate information and was told that I should definitely recieve my grant information by December 14, 2007. Needless to say I never got a call of a letter in the mail.

I tried to call again but the offices were closed and the machine said that the offices would not be open until Jamuary 4, 2008. I called that day and I was informed that the company American Standard Finacial had been discontinued.

As you can probably imagine I was and still am very upset. I called again January 7 and the operator I was forwarded to informed me that I was to recieve a compensation vaction package within 14 business days of the phone call and he advised me to take legal action if I did not recived the compensation.

Right now I am more concerned of the 359 dollars that was basically stolen from me. I would greatfully take the compensations and have no anger towards the company but the operator told me that thaere was no guarentee that I would recieve the compensation.
