I received a call from 831-303-2704, They didn't say what company they were for just that I had been chosen for a Government grant because of my financial standing.

When ask what company thay worked for they said American Standard Financial, I ask where the company was located, philadelphia. How did they get my information? They said they got my information from the Federal Government, they called the grant an equal income grant and said it was worth $4500, they told me I was going to need to pay 350 something dollars for the paperwork. They refused to give me contact information. They said that if i didn't give them my bank account # that they would have to hang up and the grant money would go to a non profit organization. They said that the call was being recorded.

I even talked to a lady who said she was the supervisor. She didn't say anything different. She said that i could look at a web site www.grants.com but there was nothing there. I again asked for contact info for this American Standard financial but she wouldn't give any.

I have there phone # because of caller id. I hope some finds these guys and gets to the bottom of this. I made the lady angry with all my questions and she eventually hung up.

The sad part is, these are not new scams.

This as well as the other lottery/only remaiining heir/foreign bank account type telephone and email scams have been around for years. A simple web search will bring up hundreds of victim complaints.

There is unfortunately and endless supply of gullible people that fall for these so the scammers will continue to move on to new victims when the current supply runs dry.

Whats next!!

AUTHOR: John - (U.S.A.)

Good grief!! Wonder what these scammers will come up with next!! The sad part is, many ---- MANY people WILL fall for this one, and hand over the requested info without hesitation! We have so many foolish/gullible people who let greed run their minds that they will just gladly pay the money thinking they are going to actually get this "grant" money!

Then, when all they get is screwed out of $350.00 they will all come here to tell us about it, instead of coming here first! Glad you had sense to see through this, and to let the rest of us know about it! THANK YOU!
