I am not even sure where to begin atithe perpetrators of this scam are very, very good at sending you in circles.  The only time we actually received a real human response was during the 5 days in which  we had the opportunity to cancel our membership.  After those 5 days calls were either unreturned or routed to a call center in Colorado.  The call center is staffed by a few clueless young women who know nothing about travel and are willing to tell you as much.  They just search the same websites that are available to anyone.

We were promised several advantages as described in the report from the people in Lake Forest, CA.  We also quickly learned that whatever we requested (condominium, hotel) was not available, not included, or was the same price as we were able to locate on our own.  The 110% price match guarantee did not seem to apply to anything other than time shares.  The 10% rebates promised do not seem to exist (For a potential $1200 hotel stay, I was quoted a rebate of $57).

It is impossible to locate the actual physical presence of these companies.  The address in Washigton, DC exists, but the office for American Travel Planners is not there.   The Colarado phone number has a 949 (Orange County, CA) area code, so that obviously does not exist.

When we met with these people in Newport Beach, they every extensive, detailed answers for all our questions. However, when you try to collect on their promises, you are told that it must be in writing in order for it to hold true.  However, when you receive your information, it is too late to cancel.  We are certainly willing to work on getting our money back and, even more importantly, putting these people out of business.

News story about scams

AUTHOR: Reporter - ()

POSTED: Monday, July 07, 2014

Hi, I'm an Orange County reporter writing about American Travel Planners' scamming and I was wondering if you would be willing to talk about your own experiences for an article about ATP and its scams. You can contact me at ocbiz47@gmail.com if you would like to talk. Thanks, I'd greatly appreciate it.
