Dear Mr. Kleinman and Ms. Falotico,

I am writing this letter to make a formal complaint about Penina Mezei, director of community relations.

During my professional work at Beth Israel Medical Center in NYC as the Senior Social Worker, I have encountered and noticed the extreme unprofessionalism and unethical behaviors of Penina Mezei. She has made very inappropriate solicitation of home care referrals many times by yelling, by making inappropriate demands. Also Penina Mezei has crossed the professional line by going to the professionals boss, by making slanders against the professional since she was angry. Penina Mezei expressed her angered and revenge in the most unprofessional manner. Thus, her inappropriate behavior has brought poor image about americare CSS to the public. She has represented americare the wrong way and has damaged the professional relationship.

On several occasions when Penina Mezei came to me at Beth Israel, she yelled and screamed at me demanding inappropriate referrals. I was working on the rehab floor and I was I charge of all the home care referrals for the rehab patients. We deal with home care agency all the time. One time, after I already gave americare referrals on the computer (Penina Mezei didnt do her duty to check with the people who handled computer referral at americare css), Penina Mezei came to me face to face at Beth Israel, yelled at me demanding more referrals, I  have done x x x for the hospital,  and for you. You are not giving me x x x number of referrals.

I need to have that quotas filled. I dont feel you are helping me. You said you gave me referrals, but I dont feel that way.  I was so surprised to hear what Penina Mezei just said. I felt tremendous pressure from Penina Mezei and I think her behavior was totally inappropriate and unprofessional. No other home care agency had demanded referrals that way. Penina Mezei further said I needed to give her certain # of referrals every week because she felt we owe her something and we had to do that. After I did not respond, Penina Mezei got more angry and continued her intimidation.  

Further, Penina Mezei got angry since she felt she didnt get enough referral from us. Penina Mezei expressed her revenge or anger by going to my boss who is the director. Penina Mezei made up untrue stories to bring grief and trouble to people. My boss took Penina Mezeis story at the face value. In addition, Penina Mezei abused her relationship with the social work assistant director there (Penina Mezei was as social work student at BI before) and manipulated her performance at BI. As an outside agency (home care agency), as a guest to do business with Beth Israel, Penina Mezei has crossed the professional line, has slandered people to make up untruthful  stories in order to satisfy her revenge need. 

Penina Mezei has showed no respect, no true professionalism, and has demonstrated total inappropriateness to conduct herself at Beth Israel Medical Center. Penina Mezei has showed she chose inappropriate channel to express her anger, to make pressing demands to the professional social workers she was working with. She shown no ethics, has brought poor image about americare CSS to outside agencies. I believe I have the responsibility to bring this matter to the attention of the president and to the attention of the Human Resources Director. The way Penina Mezei made unethical, inappropriate solicitation of referrals from acute care hospitals is alarming and that needs to be brought to the proper attention of authorities.

Furthermore, the way Penina Mezei slandered professionals and made up untruthful stories has showed that Penina Mezei has betrayed her role as the director of community relations. Instead, she has brought very poor image about her position as the director of community relations and very poor image about americare. I am making a formal complaint about Penina Mezei and I have faith that you will carry out disciplinary actions toward Penina Mezei. As professionals, we and I feel I can not trust her at all and I believe Penina Mezei has a lack of character and also a lack of integrity about working with other professional people and about conducting herself.

Due to what Penina Mezei did, I felt quite reluctant to do business with her because she has behaved very unprofessionally and inappropriately. I am looking forward to your reply in this matter.
