I was interviewed and hired by this organization to be a so-called corporate trainer. This is a totally misnomer because what they are looking for is a salesman. No trainer position exists. I was told I had to sell eighteen health insurance policies over six weeks to validate my 50,000 a year salary. I told the interviewer, Eric Paige I would be leaving a salaried position that had benefits, retirement etc. so I had to be sure I would not lose my position in a couple of weeks. He said " don't worry, you have six weeks and I will get you your first three sales your first week". Needless to say, I resigned my position and came to work. I and the other people hired were lied to from the first minute I met these people. Expenses were supposed to be paid for my training in Nashville. Never saw a dime.

First week out I was thrown out to basically drum up every piece of business. My manager Eric could not get out to work before 1 pm and I never saw the three deals he promised. Third week out I sold two policies and gave one to Eric since it was an out of state sale and He had to take care of it. I produced over 30,000 in business in three weeks and the monday of my fourth week I was called to meet him. I was working and had to drive 60 miles back and forth to get fired. there was no discussion, no defense, just fired with no reason. This company has a human resources manual that stipulates exact procedures in terminating an employee and not one iota of it was followed. I have never been lied to nor had to deal with more egotistical, incompetent managers that Americas health team has. Every person I saw hired experienced the same treatment. I saw clients treated very badly and their pertinent questions totally ignored. I was not allowed to talk during sales callsand I was embarrased at the total lack of ethics I witnessed on sales calls. They also have another subsidiary Senior Plan Sales.

If you see any of the two on Career builders, Monster etc. run the other way. I am now out of work for the first time in my life and gave up a lucrative career for their lies. Stay away !!!!!

Garbage Company!!

AUTHOR: Ricky - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, March 07, 2012

I've been with big companies and seen everything there is to see. I don't think AHT is necessarily any different than any other insurance company out there but Don Vincent is without a doubt a slippery dude. The thing that really made me immediately spit out the Kool-aid was hearing different yearly earning amounts for a particular Mgr ranging from 100K then 500K to 1million a year. I hung around enough to hear so many contradictions I began to get really freaked out because when I first got recruited I GOOGLED AHT & scam populated as I typed it in. I caught them in so many lies it isn't even funny. I left because I felt like I could get appointed by anyone and get the same support making more.

Here's the truth based on experience, what I saw & heard..
There's very few people that actually make $ at AHT.
The training is a joke.
Drew is still wet behind the ears & has no clue how to make people successful.
AHT' will hire anyone & I mean anyone, throw them all against the wall to see who sticks.
The average income figures they throw around are without any basis, I never have met anyone outside of Don & Drew that say they're making above $50K.
They promise leads....yea right!..This is a cold call door to door position period.
The carrier is good Assurant but the product...it's a hard to sell DISCOUNT HEALTH PLAN.
They'll tell you Mgr pay is 45K ++++ but the truth is it's $850 for 2 weeks then $200 a week w/$650 commission match which means it's about 12K + override.
If you're hired with no health ins experience as a Mgr you'll get trained for a day or 2 then expected to trained others while held to a personal production quota.
I literally had no idea from week to week if I'd get a check from AHT(Assurant always paid)
The commission split was low but supposedly the support & leads make up for it... their competitor pays double?
If I were giving advice to a friend I'd say you're wasting your time to be honest

You're smoking, this is by far the easiest most receptive sales job I've had. Yes you have to work & if you don't you get canned. I've heard this story a million times, AHT is always looking for good people so I doubt they would fire you if you were producing. I've never been shorted a single penny & the support is like no other. AHT has over 2000 agents so looks like your compliant is the 1%. Sorry bud you need to work retail but in the mean time I'll continue to get paid.

You certainly are drinking the kool-aid. You ae probably right about the overide system but Americas Health Teams other issues involving lying to recruits, treating their clients with evasive tactics and their unbridled egotism is something non-debatable. You must be on their payroll if you in any way back them up.

ALL OF YOU ARE WRONG (OR COMPETITION SCAMMING)

AUTHOR: gravity - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, August 11, 2010

over rides??? i'm sorry but you WILL NOT get your over rides if you write bad business and accrue a debit balance... sorry, goto court and they will laugh in your face and maybe take a class action lawsuit out on you for owing money. You got a 12 month advance on commissions including your down line with over rides... and your business didn't stick... i shouldn't have to explain this too you (as you seem to know how this works...) but anyways... when your client cancels out at 6 months (probably because they got no help from their agent, because their manager didn't provide proper training) you have to pay the money back in the form of a debit balance... so if you refuse to pay your debit balance and you bail on your down line even though they are still writing business... GUESS WHAT!!! no over ride check... this is standard for most and even better than most because we provided you with the down line, with the 12 month advance, and only asked you to train your agents THAT WE PROVIDED AT NO COST!!! you got a great deal and screwed it off and now you're back on here spouting your pathetic grievances over something that was your fault from the get go... get over yourself... if you work you get paid. PERIOD.

on a side note... my views do not reflect the views of the company as i am in a contract position which allows me to be my own boss... they are the broker... and so far they have been terrific with a great staff... and they even made it ahead of everyone else during Obama's industry shake ups... these guys know how to market and offer a fair deal to those that are willing to goto work...

Sales "Trainer" positions with AHT

AUTHOR: Oldscool - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, June 08, 2009

I too was offered this very same deal in Orlando. I met personally with both Don and Eric several times. I have been in the Health/Life insurance field for 15 years, working for only 2 different carriers, so I was being overly careful NOT to get sucked into a scam. The only reason is was in the market was due to a layoff from my companies P&C losses from Florida hurricanes (even though I was in the health division, 100 of us were let go). I did not get a good feeling from either of them in my interviews or at the point they offered me the position. Most of my REAL question, concerns and issues were avoided or never answered. I chose to pass on the deal fearing what "Disgrunteled" has experienced would come true. I guess I was right. Interestingly enough, I found a position in Atlanta and just moved here from Florida. So don't dispare "Disgrunteled", there ARE good jobs in Georgia still!

The corporate trainer position is a brand new position as explained to me and my two associates. Americas Health Team primarily dealt with brokers and were trying a new demographic business model. If you do not believe me, ask Don Vincent if the position exists in some metropolitan cities. Obviousely you do not know of the position for a reason. The three of us were hired for this position, promised the world, lied to then all fired within four weeks. Some of us left lucrative positions to work for this company. This is the 100 percent truth and not one disgruntled employee, three !!!!!

corporate trainer?

AUTHOR: Daniel_williams - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, April 01, 2009

i've worked for America's Health Team as a broker for a few years and have never heard of a corporate trainer position... not calling the guy a liar... just saying that this must be something new. If they offered you any kind of guaranteed salary plus commission, bonus, overide etc. then i'd say you had it better than most others in your position. AHT is better than most in this industry and i see that this guy is in georgia... one location for a nation wide company = 1 mans individual greivience
