I was charged $1,011.87 to repair air conditioning not blowing cold air in my car. The repair that was done lasted 2 weeks and no A/C again.

The 1st week of July 2013 I took my vehicle to a dealer due to the A/C would not blow cold air. They had my car for 1 week and determined it was a "fin sensor" that would cost approximately $1,100.00 to repair, due to the location of the sensor and having to remove the entire dashboard. The part was approximately a $25-$50 part, $950 was the labor. At the time I didn't have the money.

On 9/14/13 I had enough money for the repair, A friend suggested I try Amer. Svc. Station. I took my Car to Amer. Svc. Station and at that time I gave them the diagnosis from the dealer. A technician named Kevin looked at the diagnosis and laughed saying he never heard of a "Fin Sensor". He agreed to take a look at my car and called me to tell me the compressor was bad and other parts had to be replaced to get the 3 year warranty but he would honor the $1,000.00 quote from the dealer. I asked if he was sure, he said yes and that I would have the 3 year warranty to back me up. I authorized the repair. On Sept 30, 2013 my A/C once again stopped blowing cold air, on Oct 4th I took to Amer. Svc. Station again. The General Manager, Jace, told me he had someone else look at the A/C and they determined that the compressor had no power. He also said that he and the other A/C tech could smell a burning smell and determined a relay plug/switch needed to be replaced.

On 10/9/13 once again the A/C stopped working correctly and would not blow cold air.on 10/11/13 I dropped my vehicle off at the svc station again and was given a shuttle ride from them to my place of employment. At 1pm Jace called me and said everything was working fine. At 4:30 pm, when no one from the station had shown up at my place of employment to shuttle me back to my vehicle I called the svc. station, Jace took the call and said he had started out to my place of employment when the A/C failed and he would need to look into this further. I agreed to leave the vehicle and let them look further the next day. On 10/12/13 Jace called me to say they say they had found the problem, it is an evap temp sensor and unfortunately it was going to cost me another $1,000.00 to repair my A/C. I told him I didn't have another $1,000.00 and I shouldn't have to pay I have their 3 year warranty. He said it was "too bad" because the part is only $50-$60 but the cost is having to remove the dashboard to get to the part. This is what I had originally told them the dealer said and they said was the problem. He said he would not honor the warranty, it didnt apply. I picked up my vehicle and came home. I called the customer svc line and left a message for a call back, they recording said they would call in 24-48 hrs. on left another msg on 10/15/13.I received a call from Adam Yeager, regional mgr, on 10/16/13 while at work, I called him back at 4:30 pm and went over this entire situation. Adam said he had to get the paperwork together and look at it and to call him back the next day. On 10/17/13 at 4:35 pm I left a message for Adam to call me back. To date (10/29/13) I have heard absolutely nothing from anyone connected with this company or my problem. I have filed a dispute with the bank for the CC charge for the original supposed repair.

8:03AM 10/16/13-I received a message from Adam Yeager – Regional Manager for American’s Service Station. He said he was calling in response to my message on his Customer Service voice mail. I returned the call at 4:35pm on 10/16/13. I explained to Mr. Yeager that I worked Monday thru Friday from 8:00Am to 4:30PM, which is why it took me so long to call him back. Mr. Yeager asked me to tell him what happened so I explained the situation to him as well. After Mr. Yeager gave me a length and an unnecessary explanation as to how A/C works in a vehicle. He said he couldn’t repair my A/C at no charge but could possibly give me the “Employee Discount”. I told Mr. Yeager of the warranty and again was told it did not apply. Mr. Yeager did however say he needed to get the paperwork and review it (why he didn’t have it already is unknown seeing as how it took him 48 hours to return my call). I did say please do review this matter. He asked me to call him back on 10/17/13.

4:35pm 10/17/13 – I left a message for Mr. Yeager to call me back.

10/18/13-No response

I have filed a complaint with the BBB and a dispute with the CC
