Due to unfortunate events I got behind on our payments to Americredit and the vehicle was reposessed. We were told by Americredit if we paid the back payments and penalties it would just be reported as past due on our credit report. It was reported as reposessed. When I called in regards to this I was told that the person who gave me the info was mistaken. I have tried fighting them on this but have gotten nowhere. We have since paid the vehicle off and three months after it was off and showed paid off on the bureaus they reported it as 30 days lat. How can it be late for that month when it was paid off 3 months prior? Still no correction from them. Also, when we had deferrments they still reported late. How do I fix this?

Americredit is not going to correct anything for you. What you can do is send information yourself to the credit bureaus and dispute anything that americredit has put in there. Also you can send copies showing the dates of payments and so on.
In my case, they have reported different amounts to all three credit bureaus. Make sure you get copies of each to see exactly what they say.
I am in dispute with them now over false informaion that was reported on me by these loansharks. this company will do nothing but make it harder on you and they refuse to correct any of their mistakes, because they think they are perfect. You , unfortunately will have to do the correcting on your own.
Just keep disputing the information until it is corrected by the credit bureaus. I hope that you can get this straightened out soon.
This company writes their own rules as they go and nothing is done about them. So it is up to consumers to fight them for their lies and deceitfulness.
Good luck and don't expect any help from them because you will not get it. All you will get is aggravation and a great big headache. It is the way they deal with their customers.
