I recently received an invoice from AmeriGas for a Tank Rental Fee of $99 plus tax. I called the local company to inqure why I received this invoice. They told me since I did not order or receive any Propane for the 2016 year that I will be charged this fee. I asked if there was any way to reduce or discard the fee and the answer was NO, they could not do anything about the charge. I am to pay this fee. I still have Propane in my tank, so I did not order any last year. I was also told I will have to pay approximately $60 for them to pick up the tank and to make sure it is empty or I will be charged another fee for them to empty the tank. I am angry that they are charging me this fee. I can not afford this fee.

So the REAL reason YOU are making this post in your own words....... I am angry that they are charging me this fee. I can not afford this fee.....NOT that you are actually being ripped off as all of this information is in the service paperwork YOU AGREED TO. But that YOU cant afford the costs. Seems to me that yet again the American Consumer just DID NOT READ!!! I fail to understand HOW the most basic of skills IS NOT being used!!!! ITS READING!!!! YOURE DOING IT NOW!! How when there is a cost YOU didnt account for is it NOW a ripoff?? Just because YOU cannot afford the cost doesnt mean that YOU get to WHINE about it online!!! How about saving the space for someone who has ACTUALLY been ripped off. This is just the cost of having a propane tank. YOU are leasing it from the very same people that put gas into it. We get it, YOU didnt order any gas during 2016, it STILL doesnt change the FACT that IF you didnt need the gas You STILL need to pay the RENTAL FEE!!!! Had you ordered gas during 2016 then the costs of the rental fee would have been waived. This is ALL information that is on thier website.
