I stumbled upon Ameriplan off-handling searching the internet one evening in August. I entered my email address and phone number and was contacted almost immediately by a representative who said her name was Sarah Brooks. We talked about Ameriplan as a homebased business and at the time I was very enthusiastic about the venture. Unfortunately I had given Ms. Brooks (if that's her real name) my checking account information as as they say I closed the barn door after the cows got out;

nevertheless I started investigating and discovered that I need to back off from this venture and sent Ms. Brooks an email stating that I wasn't interested, along with some other fellow whose name I can only remember as Tim or Tom (something) anyway, she sent an email back with all the reasons why Ameriplan was this legitimate company with all this promise and shortly after that I started receiving emails from other people in Ameriplan of which I didn't respond.

To make a long story short. Ameriplan has debited my checking account even though I clearly stated that I was no longer interested in the company. It appears that it's more like a pyramid scheme and pyramids are not what I'm interested in.

I've emailed Ms. Brooks about debiting my checking account and have had no response from her. It's like she's fallen off the face of the earth.

As for their product I opened the UPS envelope but everything else is still wrapped in plastic which I plan to promptly ship back to them. And I will be contacting my bank. There must be something or some law that is against companies such as Ameriplan.

In her defense

AUTHOR: Velva - (U.S.A.)

I am an IBO in Ameriplan and I think Patricia's comments are very unfair. If Sarah did not respond to Patricia's email, why did Patricia not call Sarah? Speaking from my experience, sometimes I do not receive my downline's emails do to overzealous spam filters etc... Sarah cannot cancel Patricia anyway because company policy dictates that each IBO has to contact Ameriplan directly. My advice for Patricia is, take responsibility for your own actions, and don't blame others for your failure to follow directions.

complaint not against ameriplan

AUTHOR: T - (U.S.A.)

Jeff explained what probably happened pretty acurately.

Your problem in this case isn't so much with Ameriplan as it is with Sarah Brooks. Sarah Brooks, representing Ameriplan signed you up for something. Sarah Brooks got an e-mail from you saying that you were no longer interested and didn't cancel your account (couldn't), and didn't write you back to inform you that she had already signed you up and she couldn't and that you would have to do _____ to cancel.

Ameriplan comes in latter, because now they should let you cancel and they should refund your money. What you needed to do as soon as you found at what was happening was contact Ameriplan and explain to them that one of their resprisentatives had signed you up and that you were unaware that you were signed up. You had expressed interest and give the respresentative your information (btw, not a good idea), but then written the representative back, saying that you were no longer interested. The representative didn't let you know that you were signed up and that they couldn't cancel you, and you found out when the charge occured, and you want them to cancel your account, refund your money and deal with the representative.

If you are still having problems with Ameriplan (even though its some months later), try calling again, asking to speak to someone really high up and lay out the whole situation, like I just did (and anything that's happened subsequently). Good companies will give you a refund, no problem. Companies like Ameriplan need to be hit on the head and reminded to behave.

clearly you need to get out

AUTHOR: Jere - (U.S.A.)

I feel sorry for you and the person that involved you. I see it's clear you are not ready for a change in your life. The IBO who signed you up NOTE help her out anyone who assests a company without knowledge of it is not going to work to change her life or build a life for one self. Scratch her off.

#4 Consumer Suggestion

What to do.

AUTHOR: Jeff - (U.S.A.)

I have been with Ameriplan for 3 years and I can assure you they are a legitimate company that gives you an awesome opportunity to have your own business. But, that isn't what you want to hear and that is not why I am writting you.

I also want you to know it isn't an illegal pyramid. It is network marketing that has a legitimate product that truly helps a lot of people save money. It doesn't seem that you gave it a chance. You wouldn't open a hamburger stand and only give it a week to succeed and then close it.

Now, for the reason that I am writing you. I want to help you understand what happened. Apparently you sent Sara an e-mail after she had already submitted your info to Ameriplan. That only takes a few minutes after you give it to her. She just has to type it in the computer. The problem is that you wanted Sara to cancel you. Sara can't cancel you. You are the only one who can cancel you. You see Sara isn't the one taking the money out of your checking account, Ameriplan is. You have to contact Ameriplan yourself to cancel since they are the ones who are taking the money.

You are a representative just like Sara and if you enroll someone then they called or wrote you to cancel them you couldn't because you aren't the one debutting their account. All that you could do is refer them to Ameriplan. Maybe Sara is like you and quit before she gave it a chance. That might be why she doesn't answer you I don't know.

Ameriplan has a reason for this. If you did have people that you enrolled and you cancelled they would roll up to Sara. Now if she got mad at you and wanted to steal your business she would just cancel you. Since Ameriplan doesn't want to give anyone a chance to steal your business they make it to where if a person wants to cancel they have to do it directly with Ameriplan. You can find their phone number on the back of your membership card.

I hope this helps you to understand what happened. I just want to help you.
