Back in October of 2005, I signed up with Ameriplan USA. Immediately, I started calling dentists, doctors, chiropractors, etc. in the area to see if they had ever heard of this company -- they had not nor are they even signed up with Ameriplan!!

The person who had signed me up was extremely pushy and only told me the "good things" about the company. No wonder because they would lose their $200 commission per broker!! Within 2 days I decided that this was not for me and got in touch with the person who had signed me up.

Per instructions, I then had to send an e-mail to their membership department to cancel my broker membership and also called the phone number. (If anyone has not received their refund, this is the number you need to keep calling and calling, and calling!)

They never tell you that you will not receive a full refund -- Only the price of the kit, which is $35.00 and they keep the rest, even if it is only a few days that a person cancels -- this is really outrageous!! (Takes months to receive this refund!) Very, very deceiving tactic, wouldn't you say?

Also, you have to ask for a refund form when you call the above number--(They weren't up- front about this either.) After months went by and no refund, I called the above listed number to see when my refund would be sent out and then they said that a form had to be filled out - I said to them "why didn't you tell me this to me to begin with"? They had no comment.

Save yourself some grief and do not sign up with this company either to be a broker or for the benefits. It a real ripoff!!!

With the price of gas now going up, up, up, so many of us would like to work out of our homes, however, where are the honest companies!!! I haven't found one yet!!

Rebuttal to Liz ex-broker

I am an AmeriPlan broker and have been for 4 years. I have to laugh at this one because it shows that there is no training! Liz, it's not your fault; I fault your sponsor for not telling you a lot of things.

First of all, we have our own Provider Relations Department. They have been trained how to speak to prospective providers as well as have a working relationship with the providers already in our proprietary network.

One of the biggest no-nos you can do is to contact a provider unless you are the patient!

You said after 2 days you decided this was not for you. Wow, I wish every business could be successful after only 2 days. Please show me when you find one.

Did you attend the New Broker Training Conference Calls held EVERY NIGHT for new brokers? People like Mark Jarvis, Brad Murray, Carol Garvey, give up their spare time to work with people they have never even heard of to help them get the proper training we ALL need for ANY new venture

Your sponsor should have shown you where the provider list is on the Internet. Either you did not want to be properly trained or your sponsor was not interested in making sure you got the best possible start so you could become successful, thereby making HIM/HER successful as well.

Everyone is "whining" about what a ripoff AmeriPlan is. Dennis and Daniel Bloom are very proud of their "Family". Yes, when you join AmeriPlan, you have an extended family. And they will go to bat for you provided you show them you're worth it!

Seems to me that a lot of what I am reading here came from a bunch of crybabies that expected a "get rich quick" scheme. You won't find that in AmeriPlan. You have to work for it, just like you have to work for any other legitimate business.

As matter of fact, we always give the facts.

As a broker we are required to have a signature or recording of brokers/members that we sign up. We are required by the company to make it clear about the terms and conditions of payments and refunds.

I am not sure what your point is as far as calling dentist and doctor. How would they know whom they accept off hand? Think about this for a second logically, do doctors/dentist really keep track of all the provider networks that they are a part of? No they do not. Also were you contacting people within our provider network?

I would clarify what you are stating here to let those whom are reading it more of an objective point of view.
