Ameritrust Financial Ripoff company. Ripped me for $200 and did not even send CCard. Dunedin Florida

I got ripped off. I should have read about this fraud company before signing up for their program.

On 3/10/07, I received a call from Mr. Marty Mclaughlin about $200 deposit and receiveing the unsecured visa/credit card with credit limit of $2000, and that, I would be able to use it anywhere in the world, in any store, department, gas station etc.

I specifically asked him if it wasn't any merchandise card. He promised that this card isn't a online merchandised one. They said it would take 3-4 business days to get the card. I had specially told Ameritrust Financial that, if I don't receive the card before 24th of March, that they would cancel my account and refund me back the money. It's been 3 weeks, I have not received the card until now. I don't even think they ever shipped out.

I am from India. I came to US for 2months. I thought, I could built/re-establish my credit in US. I got lured into their trap.
For me $200, is like 10,000, since I earn in Indian money. Its almost like 1/2 of my pay for the month.

Now, i am leaving for India and with no luck of their credit card or coupon, I don't know what to do. I called their customer service. First of all their phone system is screwed up. Then, if you get connected, the reps are rude and non-coperative. They tell me if I cancel, it will cost me another $35 and lose my $200 also. If I don't cancel, there is penalty for non-activity.

I don't have the card so I am at a loss either way. I asked them to listen to my tape. The tape was incomplete and re-edited. They only had me saying yes to the conversation and not all of the conversation I had with Mr. Mclaughlin about card being Visa/MC and $200 charge only as refundable deposit, if not used. I am not very good in english, so I did not understand, fully what I was getting into. These guys are cheats, liars. They took my money wrongfully.

I checked their Online shop just to see the products. The prices are ridiculous. Its 3-4 times expensive than what you could get in regular stores. Don't even have any descent items. This is a total scam. They want to get as mush money out of people as possible.

Please help me if there is anyway i could get my money back. I don't want their creditcard anymore. Neither I want to order anything from their catalog. These people lied to me just about everything. It was my mistake too, to have not read the fine prints and done research on this company.

I see so many people got ripped off by this company (57 reviews). All bad reviews and none good ones. But they were all in American Financial heading, They now call themselves Ameritrust Financial. ThisHow come this company is still in business? Why isn't anybody shutting them down?

I will keep fighting until I get justice. I will write to Florida state government too about this scam.

Hopefully someone will take action against these theives.
