Overcharge me and came with no proper equipment. Had a rented truck, no dolly, no wardrobe boxes. Held our posesions hostage until a blank contract was signed and a payment more than 100% over amount due was paid. Did not honor $100 deposit. Damaged our property, coerced us into assisting them in carrying furniture. Much more, this was a total scam!

The Contracted time and date of the move was July 1st at 9am. The movers were 4 hrs late. When the district office was contacted (and could ONLY be reached by me calling a cell number that appeared in my caller ID. When I asked about this I was told that the office was closed because of the lateness on a Sunday) we were assured we would receive 1 hour off of the minimum of 4 hours. We were moving from a 1 bedroom apt to a single family home. We had packed and moved everything except for 12 pieces of furniture to ensure that the move would be very brief. The movers arrived in tank tops and shorts, no uniforms as advertised and were very incompetent. One man wrapped everything in plastic while the other watched. They took frequent "breaks". They did not have packing blankets as promised (free of charge) so they wrapped everything 2 to 3 times. Things were wrapped that did not need wrapping, like leather chairs that did not have removable cushions. We were then charged for rolls of plastic wrap that would not have been necessary if the proper equipment promised was provided. The drive time between pick up and destination was 15 minutes. Movers took 1hr and 15 min to arrive and had a hot pizza in the truck. When asked they admitted stopping for pizza and said we would only be charge for the 15 min drive time.

Movers forced my husband to sign an uncompleted contract at pick up and refused to give him a copy of contract. Upon arriving at destination (with pizza) movers refused to unload truck until they received a cash payment in an amount that exceed the quotation by more than 100%. When told we would not do that driver said he would sit in the truck until maximum charge was accrued ($1500) and then he would leave with our possessions. The Escondido police department were called by myself and my husband and proclaimed it to be a contact dispute that they could not help with but recommended signing with exception and charging the cost so that we could at least dispute the charge, which we did. The driver had no way of contacting district office (no cell or radio) and held long phone conversations on our home telephone in Russian even though English was spoken to us by both driver and District Office (Dave). District office assured us that they would adhere to contract minus the 1 hour for lateness and 10% discount, but driver said he knew nothing about that and would not even honor the original contract price. A $100 deposit was given at the time of the reservation and driver refused to honer deposit, we were told it would be refunded and of course it was not. Driver charged us 3% for using a credit card and refused to put his company name on the charge authorization that I was FORCED to fill out. Garment boxes were not provided as contracted (free of charge). Movers didn't even have a hand truck or dolly. Movers were using a rented Budget truck and furnishings were stacked on top of each other causing scratches and dings. Items were dragged across the concrete once unloading began. We were forced to assist them to keep them from damaging our property. I myself carried one end of our mattress to get it off of the ground as the driver dragged it up our driveway.

Driver attempted to drag an outdoor grill through the carpeted living room. Walls were nicked, furnishings were scratched and nicked. Driver removed leg of sofa and did not replace. Hardware for sofa leg was lost. Furnishing were not placed in the proper rooms where they belonged, driver piled everything in dining room, one piece after another. When finished driver refused to allow me to read the contract I was forced to sign, saying he was in a hurry. Then asked to use our rest room. I took the contract inside to sign and wrote that it was under duress and protest. After which I removed my own copy. When given back to the driver he began adding things to the signed contract in front of us. When questioned he admitted yes he was altering the signed contract and laughed openly in our faces. He did not know that I had removed my copy already. When all was finished the job that was contracted for 9am was finished at 7pm.
