AMMCO Transmission is very bad company. Despite the good stuff you may see advertising, in reallity they are the worst one. Charge you a lot higher price and the part they used are junk. Worst of all if you bring your car for diagnostic to see what the problem is. They will make comment that they need to take apart to know what the cause is. Once you say said go ahead, get what they will charge you for put it together.

August 2009 I brought my acura they for transmission repair, they said they need to take apart to know exactly what cause the problem. I said find go ahead do it. Then they told it cost $3K to repair the transmission, lots of money to me. I told them let wait not to do the repair yet, they said it cost $500 to put back together. I wasn't happy with it but end up let them repair and charged for $3k with one year warranty. One year and three months later with a total of mileage I put on not even 8,000 miles yet, transmission broke down. Isn't this crabby???

I put this on here so everyone aware of if you have trans problem don't bring to AMMCO, they give junk stuffs.

Where to begin...............

AUTHOR: Will - (U.S.A.)

My nephew worked at a couple transmission places here in Houston, ammoco being one,and the routine rip-off stories he told me were wild.First off; whoever invented transmission repair shops came up with the phrase"We have to dismantle the tranny to see exactlywhat's wrong" and BINGO!! they got you!Now pay for repair or take your tranny home in a box...this classic RO is the most common with all tranny places.

Now a few tricks these shops pull: Transmission is repaired/rebuilt with USED parts and customer charged full price for new parts/rebuild kits-VERY COMMON! Sometimes parts where removed from cars already in the shop and put on another car and both customers charged for new parts. The shop recommends the full rebuild and customer goes with the "cheaper" repair and they kink or crush oil psi line that eventually burns up pump/tranny and say "told'ya so" later on. Same scenario as last sentence, but they under fill the transmission just enough so on level ground car runsfine except on hills or turns when the pump cavitates and the tranny acts up. Now comes the "We told'ya".... rebuild time, but since your such a good customer we'll knock off a few bucks! Ball bearings placed in transmission pans that causes strange noises and when customer returns they must "DISMANTLE" the tranny to fully investigate the noise.......Just a few RO examples (I know more) both well known tranny repair places did and do.
