This report is being filed late because the boat was winterized and sat for a year and I did not have access to a computer.  I purchased a used boat in Aug 2013, that had a merc i/o in it.  I asked Anchor Marine Repair to do a boat check, tune up, oil change, outdrive service and fule tank drained.  I was told that this would cost about $575.00.  The boat had been at this shop for about three weeks when I called to see how things where going.  They told me that it would be ready in about two more weeks and nothing was mentioned about current charges.  About a week and a half later I receive a call saying that my boat is ready to be picked up.  I asked what the charges where and almost fell down when they told me that I owed $3,021.90  I asked how it had gotten so high from the original estitmate of $575.00 and they told me that they had to replace alot of parts on the boat to make it work properly.  During the time that they had my boat, not once did I receive a call telling me of these new charges.  I paid the invoice and then took the boat over to a tire and brake shop for work that needed to be done on the trailer.  This shop had my boat for about a month, so when I got it back it was getting into winter, so I winterized the engine and put the boat into storage.

When I tried to use the boat the next spring, I ran the battery down trying to start the engine and it would not start.  I took the boat into a different repair shop and they where not able to start the engine.  They came to find out that the engine was set up 180 degrees out of proper firing order.  It needed a new distributor cap and a complete tune up.  Now you might be able to see why I would be just a little bit pissed at Anchor Marine Repair for what they charged me and did not do a proper repair jon.  My advice to you if you need boat repair in Port Angelesm, Wa. take it down the road mate.
