Anderson and Crenshaw Associates Contract cancelled and equipement picked up prior to another security system put in. The claim was that i didn't cancelle the contract in time. Dallas, Texas

2006 I purchased my first house and decided to get a security system.  I had ADT come and install their system but on returning from the store another company came by and had a better offer for a cheaper price.  I had cancelled the service and had ADT come pick up the equipment before the expiration time.  2009 Ander. & Cren. contacted me saying that I owe on a contract I failed to oblige.  I explained to them that I had service with another company and was also willing to fax over the new contract and date of service that they provided.  Mrs. Fairfax (the representative that was on the phone and had apparently pulled my credit report because she was reading things off that I personally was reading prior to her calling) didn't want to hear anything from me, I also told her that I had evident to where ADT refunded my money back from cancelling the service but the only thing i didnt' have was the fax paper saying I had cancelled in time (her words against mines).  She said that I could take it to court if I don't pay and since I cant afford a lawyer and didn't have anything tangible as far as the fax letter i thought I was screwed.  Months has went by and now I tryed to call to make payment arrangements for next month and find out the none of the phones are working in which I'm puzzled so I got on the internet thinking that maybe theres a new number and I see were they're llisted under being a scam.  I feel so bad and sick right about now not to mention mad as hell.
