Andrew Fike - Sun n Fun Above Ground Pool Installation Stole $2,000 Tampa Florida

On 6-9-13 I contracted Sun N Fun and Andrew Fike to Install a pool at my house. I told him a dozen times that I needed to have the install done with a permit as is required in the state of Florida. I was so worried about his ability to obtain a permit that I added a clause to our contract that said "If Permit Needed and for whatever reason is not granted 100% refund is due, All permit inspections, if any, must be passed" which he signed.

Over the next several months I learned that Mr Fike was not licensed and could not pull his own permit. He ultimately got a contractor friend of his to sign off on a permit. He then found out we also needed a licensed electrician to sign off on the permit also. He had another friend look at the job and say he was going to sign off on it too. However this electrician wasn't licensed in Pasco county so he was to get a friend of his to do it.

So here I was having unlicensed individuals work on a pool and electricity. To be on the safe side I called an electrisian on my own and he came out and said that the work the unlicensed electrician was going to do would never pass inspection as he needed to run a dedicated line.

I decided that neither the poll installation or electricity were being done by licensed individuals so i chose to cancel the contract.

The contracts cancellation policy says the following "If the client wishes to cancelthis contract, the client will be required to pay for any work completed thus far as no work was completed I wanted a refund.

I have been calling Mr Fike for 3 weeks asking for a refund and today he finally called back and said he would drop the pool off. I do not want the pool I want a refund.

Do not use this unlicensed company or individual as ALL pools above and below ground must have permits. If not done correctly your insurance will NOT cover any claims related to the pool.

All pools must be grounded properly and all metals near or around the pool must be grounded also. Mr Fike wants to run an extension cord from the pool to the plug in your backyard. This is illegal and very dangerous. Lightning, Water, Electricity and Metal don't mix well.
