Angel Germain The Experience LLC Door to door scam in Granite Bay Phoenix, Arizona

A young girl, thin, brown hair in braids, glasses came to our door this evening and said she was a neighbor with a retired Marine father.  She was quite hyper and friendly and said she attends Chico College and was trying to help out three students attain funds for a trip to Greece in May and they had already collected $8,500 of the $10,000 they needed.

She stated that other neighbors had written checks and showed me receipts.  She also stated she wasn't selling anything, but books would be donated to UC Davis children's hospital and her group would receive 85% of the amount toward the trip.

I unfortunately fell for the scam and wrote a check to "The Experience".  When she left, she thanked me and promised to return after her trip with pictures.

Shortly after she left a neighbor sent a text warning me this was a scam similar to one that happened last year and that when confronted the girl was rude and ran away.

I checked the internet for the company and found out the BBB gives them an F and her name was listed on Ripoffreport so I immediately stopped payment on my check.  I hope it was in time, and I learned my lesson, but it makes me sad because she seemed so sweet at the time.
