AntennaDeals False advertising, won't answer emails requesting refund for product that is other than what is advertised. Internet/TX

I stupidly made a purchase from Antenna Deals without checking their ratings. The antenna (HD-2605) was received days after the order - did not ship in 24 hours and when I emailed they never answered and eventually a ship notice showed up - no other communication.

The box had been opened before I received it, and not by the carrier. It looked like a toy - no correction, it looks cheaper/worse than the stuff at the local dollar store! I emailed them since I got no channels after attic install. I called Lava Tech Support. They told me antenna was for outside, period (not what the antenna deals site says in their video - it specifically says an attic installation is okay). Lava support also told me the signal booster had to be 2-3 feet from antenna. When I pointed out that the user manual says up to 50 feet maximum is okay, he again told me it had to be right next to antenna. And yes I tried that, with no results.

I sent numerous emails requesting a return and a refund, which were never answered. Look on the Better Business Bureau site and you will see other complaints like this - no communication if you have a problem or want to return something (I filed another one!).

Look at the Paypal dispute posted by Antenna Deals. Here is a direct quote:

"Your satisfaction is our top priority. If you have a problem with a transaction, please email us. How will we know there is a problem unless you inform us? We always ship orders immdiately, so please remember USPS can sometimes be slow. We persoanlly insure all packages so if anything is lost or stolen we can replace or refund fast. If you file a claim on us, your funds will be tied up for at least 45 days with Paypal. As a Paypal merchant powerseller, we do not lose dispute cases. We DO respond emails all day long and can refund or reship instantly. Thanks for your support, we hope to keep your satisfaction!"

Sounds like a threat about filing a Paypal dispute doesn't it? After seeing this site, I will be going to the Paypal complaint system next. Who cares if my money is tied up for 45 days - it is permanently tied up with antenna deals now!
