"A.P.E. Publishing" is a work-from-home scam that has been renamed multiple times to hide it's reputation.

A.P.E. Publishing has also been a scam under the name of American Publications, Advantage Publications and Expressions.  Every few years the scammer changes the name.

The work from home scam  "A.P.E. Publishing" is run by Dean Murray Spasser in Maryland Heights, MO.  Dean Spasser has a UPS box on Dorsett Road that he collects checks. cash and money orders in.  The address on Dean Spasser's website is not an office or a home.  It is a UPS Box.  The BBB webite calls it a Suite.  It is a UPS postal store.

A.P.E. Publishing, aka Dean Spasser will send you a worthless packet for $30+ with information that you could get for free elsewhere.

Dean Murray Spasser also charges extra money to speed the information to you.  Don't pay this if you are silly enough to fall for his scam.  Spasser sends the crappy packet to you at the same speed no matter what you pay.

Check out APE Publishing's BBB rating on the bbb.com website.  It is an F.  There is a cease and desist order against Dean Spasser in the state of Washington.  You can also read about Spasser in an article that the St Louis Business Journal published when the name of the company was Advantage Publications and/or American Publications.

The rationale for the new name seems to be that the acronym APE publishing is actually used for "Author, Publisher, Entrepeneur" in the online community, which has nothing to do with "APE Publishing" as run by Dean Spasser.  This common phrase, having nothing to do with the nature of Dean Murray Spasser's APE Publishing, would seem to help with Dean Spasser's efforts to spam the search engines.

If you are thinking of sending money to A.P.E. Publications, aka APE Publications, please check them out on the BBB website, the St Louis Business Journal's article, the BBB website's article about the company when it was still called American Publications, and the numerous complaints on Ripoff Report. I don't think that the complaints are all consolidated under one name on Ripoff Report, so you have to look under American Publications, Advantage Publications, APE Publishing, and A.P.E. Publishing.

You might check out the proprietor Dean Spasser in the online Missouri Courts service Casenet.  Dean Spasser has 3 pages of litigation.  This is less than there was before they changed the criteria for restraining order cases being listed or not. Anyway, you should thoroughly vet this business before sending your money.

The quickest way to get a refund if you did make the mistake of sending money is to file an online complaint with the BBB, an online complaint with the Missouri Attorney General's office, and a complaint with the US Postal Inspector.  All of that takes about 10 minutes and it's all online.
