This is a sad story of people taking advantage of those that are out of work. We should all take a lesson from this luckily I did my own investigation on these people. I went on an interview  Met with Lindsey/ Wendy or whatever her name is these days I was told to ask for Tyler Moore but instead I got Lindsey/Wendy I thought the concept was a great idea supporting local schools and businesses through ad sales on posters tickets programs etc. but upon leaving Lindsey gave me a poster and a folder very unprofessional looking  so were the business cards for her district manager Jim Davidson (I suspect these two go by several names) upon further investigation I see several company names these two have been involved with as well as different cities and addresses they have only a po box for a home office and no fax number  . Even the president of this company has changed names. Typical con artist taking advantage of folks please read the other horrible experiences people have had fortunately I lost a 1/2 days time and some gas money but many have lost more. Be careful when interviewing always checkout the company before going on interviews sad it has come to this I know I learned a big lesson on this job search.

This company is now going by the name of GameDays Production and using Carborro High School as the bait. All businesses in Carborro need to know.

Evidence: You work for them for a couple weeks, send money to them, and they do not reimburse you for your work. They keep the cash and cut ties with you. FBI/FTC/NLRB is currently investigating.

#2 Consumer Suggestion

Now Advantage Promotions is using the name API

The oldest complaints of the scam with the tall thin lady and the cocky northeastern guy on the phone seem to go back to 2008. It is amazing that after five years, the two of them are still trying to pull this crap.

They are now going by the name API. It seems that Linsey kept using her same name, but the guy on the phone (Larry O'Brian, Jim Davidson) seems to keep changing his. They told me that their "Alabama headquarters" was a Regus office that they rent out for two days per year. When I met her, the tall, thin lady was going by "Casey Smith." However, after my "second interview", I figured out that it was all a scam and called some of the other people on that floor of the Regus building. They said that she went by Linsey Beford in the past, but now goes by Casey Smith.

Either way, this is just a slightly more believable "secret shopper"/African car death scam. What makes it more believable is that they actually have a sales interview and you meet somebody in person.

What I don't get is, how can these people live with themselves? They have researched the local High Schools and made all these posters, so why don't they just do legit and honest work? Will this tall, thin blonde lady one day look in the mirror and feel at all guilty for the thousands of job seekers who she lied to or the thousands of dollars that she ripped off from businesses? Or do people like her and the cocky guy on the phone have zero conscience?

I am hoping to find one of these interviews, show up again, and have the police waiting for me outside of the building. Someday something along those lines has to happen. These con artists must be brought to justice.

I am just wondering if you could elaborate on why this is a scam, or proof of how you know this is a scam?
