I am currently attending The University of Phoenix Online.  I have been trying to get my financial aid started up.  The problem I am having is the on campus financial aid office is not doing their job.  This process started back on August 11th, 2009.  I went on The University of Phoenix Financial Aid Website and filled out the information.  According to the financial aid advisor at that time my loans were with Advance Loans and they were no longer working with the university.  I received an email telling me of this and that I needed to find another lender and fill out another Master Promissory Note.  The email also stated that he could not tell me which lender to use but to use one on their list of approved lenders.  I emailed the financial aid advisor back and told him that my loans were not with Advance but with Sallie Mae.  In a week I received the same email from the financial aid advisor saying the same thing.  I told the financial aid advisor the same thing about my MPN.  The next I heard from the financial aid advisor was that I need a new MPN because the one UOP had was old and outdated.  I finally got my enrollment advisor involved.  I sent her the information showing that I had an up to date MPN.  I sent the information to the enrollment advisor who said that she would send it to the financial aid advisor.  I double checked to make sure the financial aid advisor received the information but hesaid he had not received it.  I talked to the enrollment advisor and she said that she had an email to prove she had sent the information.  In talking to the financial aid advisor he said that all I needed was the MPN so I got in touch with Sallie Mae.  According to Sallie Mae the MPN had been received by The University of Phoenix and that there was not a problem with my paper work.  I down loaded the MPN and sent a copy through email to the financial aid advisor even though it was not needed.  The financial aid advisor sent it through email to fanicial aid processing and I faxed one to processing.  I doubled checked with processing to make sure that they had received the MPN and they said no.  I sent the MPN again to processing through email which I finally got word that they received it.  Later come to find out processing had received all four MPNs but said that they had not.  The reason I received for not having the MPN is that processing was switching their fax over.  Processing is not on The University of Phoenix campus.  I had told the financial aid advisor that all he needed to do was to start the certification process because the loans were waiting at Salle Mae.  Instead of doing this the financial aid advisor put a pending on my financial aid paper work and it just sat there.  I finally talked to the enrollment advisor and she informed me that the current financial aid advisor had left the company.  The pending was put on my account because I evidently still needed to send in an authorization for funding which I had not been told about.  When I found this out one was sent in.  The financial aid department has been holding up the paper work and not sending it in nor have they been notifying anyone something was needed.  I finally talked to both Sallie Mae and the fanicial aid processing center.  Both of these departments agreed that the problem was the fault of the on campus fanicial aid deparment.  I have still to this day not received my fanicial aid and I am receiving bills from the University of Phoenix.  I am enrolled in COM/705 which if I do not pass this class with a B or higher I can not proceed to the next class.  I have been having points taken off from the Instructor because of the citations being formated incoretly.  I could not purchase the books necessary nor any other school supplies that could help my grade.  The next course is getting ready to start on November 10th, 2009 and I can not afford to buy the books needed for the course.  There are assignments due in the first week of the course that come from the books the instructor wants us to purchase.   I feel that there will not be enough time to order the books to do the first assignments.  This is a violation of the schools missions statement and cause not only a hardship but my grades suffer because of this.  In talking to either financial aid, my enrollment councelor al I get is the run around.  Once again I have been told by Sallie Mae and the financial aid processing that the problem was with the on campus financial aid department not sending the paper work in on time.
